The club is delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old Scottish winger Matty Kennedy on a two-year-deal.

The former Kilmarnock, Everton and Cardiff City man finalised his move to Saints this morning but is not eligible for today's Betfred Cup clash with Montrose. Subject to international clearance, Matty could be involved in Tuesday night's fixture with Falkirk at McDiarmid Park.

Having started his career with Kilmarnock - where he made 14 top flight appearances - he joined English Premier League side Everton, spending the majority of his time out on-loan at Tranmere Rovers and MK Dons, as well as a spell in the Scottish Championship with Hibs.

A permanent move to Cardiff City followed, where he made 18 appearances for the club in the second tier of English football. During his time with Cardiff he also had loan spells at Port Vale, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth.

Matty has represented Scotland at every youth level but is yet to receive a senior cap for his country.
