Ross Co v Hibs, Sat 17 October, KO 3.00pm
#1
Hibs finally return to a full strength line up and some of Hibs players no doubt bouncing with confidence after participating in unexpected international footie activities. Hibs are currently a "top three" Scot Prem side. So here's hoping the boys push to hold that position with another victory in Dingwall. Nisbet and Doidgy should be up front as usual and I expect some Hibs goals to be scored in this fixture with Hibs defence keeping fairly solid as we gradually lead up to a gleefully anticipated Scot Cup semi-final at the end of the month. C'mon Hibs.

FT and a massively disappointing 0-0 "stick-on" draw after watching the 1st 30 mins of this Scot Prem match in which no Hibs player in any goal-scoring position ever looked likely to score today - an embarrassment considering Hibs had 26 shots on target in this match with a good number of "suspects" who should've made this result a "safe win" by the hour mark! One word to sum this up - ASTONISHING!!

Astonishing is the right word - 44 shots on target between the two teams, that is an insane number!! Defending obviously optional, but unfortunately clinical strikers seemed to be optional as well!!

We weren't quite at it in front of goal the day, but we were the better side by some distance. Frustrating but Aberdeen didn't win either at least. Doidge reminded me today of the player that first came to hibs, a player with a dreadful touch who couldn't score in a barrel of fannies!

If you cant win make sure you get the point.

Re Doidge's role in this farce, why can this guy not head a ball properly in situations where timing and focus are paramount in scoring simple goals from some terrific "cross balls" that were "begging" to be converted????? In bygone days I scored a number of goals with my face from almost point blank positions off opposition goal lines!!! Yes, with my face!!! And it hurt!! But I was ensuring that the ball was gonna be headed on target with venom!! Even Hanlon at the end of this match somehow opted to head the ball off the ground from 3 yards rather than heading it with venom and accuracy!! I think Jack Ross's post-match comment was so fitting - it was a "strange match"!! Yep, and nobody in Hibs ranks who was cute enough to move from "frenetic mode" to "guile mode" in just showing a bit of coolness and quality in ensuring that the ball ended up in the Staggies' net. Same criticism goes for Boyly running in on an opposition goalie and almost always opting for a "diagonal shot" rather than hit towards the post (and space) that is facing you son!!! An easy goal IMO!!

It was a funny game, and I think it showed that we are a bit too reliant on certain players to get the goals for us.

I wonder a what point in the season Doidge is going to start playing as he's been well off it for a few games with some stinking misses.

I honestly don't think he's very good bounce. But fair play he has scored a lot more goals than I thought he would Laugh
