To alleviate the boredom

As some of us seem to have been placed under house arrest for the foreseeable future (I`m starting to go stir-crazy already) I`m posting this in the hope that it might provide a bit of light entertainment for a few of you. I used to organise quizzes many years ago and I once used this as a a bit of fun for the interval. I know I thought up a few of them myself (sorry!) but others I picked up from somewhere or other; long time ago now.

I`ll post the answers in a week or so - or whenever I remember, whichever comes sooner.

The clues represent the name of an English or Scottish football team. Sometimes, the clues suggest the entire name, sometimes just the first word. In other words, the answer could be either ‘Plymouth’ or ‘Plymouth Argyle’, for example.

I was going to say that they`re only difficult if you don`t know the answers, Matt, but looking through them again after a gap of several years, I have to admit that some of them are quite hard even when you DO know the answers. My excuse is that I used to be into crosswords in a big way.

You got 8 right, by the way.

No good asking me anything technical like that, Dancing. Amelia may be able to help, though.

Dancing, got to the SB home page. Top left click on User CP, that opens a page about you and down the left is a section called Miscellaneous, in there you will see Saved Drafts.
