Solid week for most this week with some good scoring from a lot of the matches, including everyone getting a CR on the Bonus Ball. Derby leads the way with an excellent 23 points gained from scoring points on 7 games, including a CR on the Gamball!! This score should see him move out of the relegation spots!!! In 2nd place is Mr Consistency, Bomber, with a fine 19 points, he managed 7 correct result predictions, if he could have turned a couple of those in correct scores he would have had a huge week!! I think we could be looking at our new PL leader here!!

Third spot goes to AAA and Zinman with virtually identical records giving them 15 points. 6 matches providing points and CS BB will get you a good score in this and that is what they did!! AAA never plays the Gamball, cost him three extra points this week though!! In 5th is St Charles, his inability to get correct scores is beginning to haunt him and will see him still fighting against relegation.

Joint 6th is BBB and Sanjay on 10 points. Like Bomber and SCO, no correct scores between them and this week that might hurt their league positions with others scoring more. Themaclad is in 8th place on 9 points and his struggles continue again being hurt by scoring consistently but no CS this week is hurting him like others!!

In 9th and last place this week is our resident bottom dweller in every sense of the word!! Beefy again fails to show any sign of being remotely able to claw himself out of the bottom 3 and scoring only 6 points will see him fall further behind!! He got the Gamball wrong of course, just like 4 other players, but his inability to make up for this with the 9 other games persists like it has all season!!! Down by March might actually become a reality for him!!

Cheers

Twerton 20pts 1CS 7CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
BaggieOne 18pts 1CS 6CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
Amelia 17pts 1CS 5CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Lady Jane 16pts 1CS 5CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
Joker 14pts 0CS 5CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
Stairs 12pts 0CS 4CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
MightyBrom 9pts 0CS 4CR 5GB -3BB 1SB
Snooty 8pts 0CS 5CR -3GB 3BB 0SB

Consistent scoring in the Championship this week with only one failure on the gamball and one on the bonus, though a successful scoreball was more elusive with only 2 successes. Correct scores were also at a premium - just 4 this week coming from the Chelsea and Villa games. Two players are grateful for Reina's decision to go walkabout in the Southampton penalty area but Snooty may not be so happy.

Twerton's march to the premier league looks unstoppable and he again heads this weeks table with 20 points from an impressive 7 correct result predictions. According to my calculations (to be confirmed by Bomber) he is fast approaching the 300 point mark and is far ahead of the chasing (well, following may be more accurate) pack. Just a couple of points back is BaggieOne, continuing to put pressure on second placed Joker, and Amelia's decision to play her balls again paid off with a full set to take 3rd place and keep her in sight of promotion. Lady Jane is a point further back and the 4th player to get a correct score though her cause wasn't helped by failing to put a score for Man City.

Joker didn't lose too much ground to those chasing him but can't be far off losing his long held 2nd place - still, if he fails to gain promotion he can at least look forward to being above Beefy next year. Stairs had one of his better weeks with 12 points as he tries to avoid bottom place in the table.

MightyBrom was the only player not to get his bonus correct but is kept off the foot of this week's table by Snooty, the only player not to forecast a Baggies gamball win (at least the only player in this division). Snooty's excellent patch of form before and after Christmas now seems a distant memory.

The bottom of the table may look very interesting with the battle to avoid having to apply for re-election (I'm showing my age there) looking very tight.

Excellent write up Zinman, it says it as it is. Thumb up

As to my league there was no mention of Bomber regaining the lead after many weeks of me being the leader, or AAA gaining a place or Derby gaining two places with Sanjay dropping a place, though a lot said about Beefy who has consistantly propped up the table since wk 3/4 Whistle

With  20pts seperating the top 5, its going to be a battle of wits come the end of the season for the winner to emerge.  Maybe 12 matches per week will help Huh
