MACS FORM RATING LAST 5 GAMES (MAX RATING 25)
Blackburn 2 Preston 4

Both sides slightly out of form in recent times no wins between them in 10 games, so looks a cast iron draw.

Our nearest and dearest away from home with mass away support even Rovers ticketing arrangements tred to spike that however we got around that so at least 5,500 will be rocking up to reduce the home clubs 190 million pound debt.
Rovers suffered a major blow when losing Bradley dack for the best part of 12 months with cruciate knee damage .
The return game at Deepdale so us 2 down before we went ale house to take the points in a 3-2 win, interesting selection problems for us will Sinclair start from the begining, Johnson seems to be closer to fitness plus some of thse who played last week may be considered plus those that were rested.

On a personal note this is the one that matters, when Uncle Jack arrived with his funny money those of us who lived in South Ribble had to put up with part time North Enders suddenly becoming Rovers supporters those were hellish times always nice to beat them,

Match Officials: Blackburn Rovers Away

Taking charge of his first Preston North End game of the season in Saturday’s derby with Blackburn Rovers is referee James Linington.

The Isle of Wight match official took charge of two PNE games last season, our August trip to Swansea City and the final game of the season away at Brentford.

He was also the man in charge of the game for our game with Cardiff City in December 2017, when Tom Clarke scored a late winner.

James took charge of three PNE games that season in all, the trio all away from home, with the games being the 2-1 win at Hull City back in September, the aforementioned game at the Cardiff City Stadium and the 1-0 win at Sheffield United in our final away game of last season.

This is also his first Rovers game of the season, having so far officiated 17 games, issuing 56 cautions and three red cards; his last game being Barnsley’s 3-1 FA Cup win at Crewe on Sunday.
Three seasons ago, the referee made his first visit ever to Deepdale for the clash with Wolves back in November and was then the referee in the away game at Derby County back in March.
The season before he was referee of the PNE game at Ashton Gate, when Greg Cunningham scored the winner against his former club and that was his third game in charge of PNE.

The other time he refereed North End was another game in the south of England, when the Lilywhites won 1-0 at Gillingham in the League One promotion season, courtesy of Paul Huntington’s goal in his first start of the season.

He will be assisted by James Wilson and Nick Barnard, with Ollie Yates acting as the fourth official.

A hard fought game ended in a draw a result which means we have not lost at Ewood since our return to the Championship five years ago, personally consider it a point gained as we were not at our best and late Rovers pressure could have given them the points.
Sinclair was on the bench as North End attacked the Blackburn End in the first half, early Maguire shot easily saved by Walton, Rovers first attack ended up in our net, to say it was shambolic defending was an understatement and Tom Clarke was the most shambolic of them all, having given the ball away to Armstrong, the winger advanced on goal at a snail's pace North End 's dfence also ambled back, Armstrong lost the ball and immediately gifted it back 10 yards out by Clarke 1 down.
Clarke's next impact on the game was to accidently behead Evans, this caused a lengthy stoppage as the Rovers player left te pitch on a stretcher.
Armstrong could have made it two after the restart his snap shot went just wide. From a Gallagher free kick we were level, the kick was cleared to the edge of the box were Harrop returned it with interest great first time volley of the bar and in, mass celebratin in the away end.
We didn't push on and it was the home side who looked more like scoring Holtby bringing a good save out of Rudd, Mr Linington also seemed to penalise us every time we went in for a tackle. Clarke was still havinga mare and Gally probably forget he had left Ewood years ago and spent most of te half passing to Rovers players even in his on penalty area.
Not sure why North End think Maguire is targetman banging the ball in the air to him is tactic that is bound to failure, Rovers could have taken the lead just before halftime and Mr Linington would have got severe grief it Armstrong had scored, blew his whistle for a free kick then changed his mind and allowed Rovers to play on as I said good job they missed.
Rovers lost Nyambe early on with an injury in the second period which was a boost to North End as he was a danger, with his departure North End took control and Rovers look there for the taking however we didn't really threaten although having some decent possession. From then on the game died with play being stopped many times for fould and injuries Pearson went down three times in as many minutes.
Stockley was introduced and almost immediately flattened a Rovers player for anoter delay, we went long ball and Sinclair came on to make his debut.
When the Riverside stand started to empty Rovers got on top, thin they may have hit the post, Rudd made one good save from a header and at the death Clarke last gasp header denied Danny Graham at the back stick.
Take a point we were not at our best and the absolute soaking going back to the car summed up the game not the best.

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"It was a typical derby game right from the first whistle to the last, nobody gave an inch.

"I think on the balance we had the better chances, we threatened their goal more but they scored a wonder goal.

"It was a nutritional game as you might expect, a local derby."

Preston manager Alex Neil:

"He's (Harrop) one of those you always want to put in the team, but sometimes when you play the teams that can move the ball really well, defensively we still need to do a bit of work with him.

"That's something we need to improve on. But what he does give us is a real threat going the other way.

"In recent weeks, we've struggled to score and then he smashes that in and it's a stunning strike.

"The important thing for us is we needed to get a point on the board, especially after the last two home games. We are a momentum-based team. Those points are big for us because we are a relatively young group and that point will hopefully spur us on."
