Ladies feel free to pick your favourite part of your own or if you prefer, your partners anatomy.

It won't be on owt round here that's live or official, but for you lucky beggars that live abroad, you might find you've to pay through the nose to watch a patchy stream on one of these channels.
https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/33363...ield-town/

Er, right, tad disappointing that isn't it?
If you want to pay through the nose and benefit Town, it's as good and reliable as a dodgy stream apparently and only for the price of your first born. Which kind of fits in with Christmas, well loosely.  Some bloke called Herod comes round and collects your subscriptions personally this month, apparently.

https://www.htafc.com/news/2019/december...town-live/

How to get there?
Well, you can try and attack Wigan from the M61 or the M6. The only problem is Wigan has the most uncoordinated traffic lights in the whole country in my opinion, which will turn the last few miles of your journey into absolute purgatory. It took us an hour from the M6 to the ground the last time we tried it, I jest not and they don't exactly fill their ground now do they? Rent a narrowboat on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Skipton and set off on Friday afternoon night. Tie it up at Wigan Pier and walk the last bit - you'll get there a lot quicker.

Otherwise it's about 20-25 minute walk from the train station(s) and the pubs there-about that sell some decent ale and scram.

If you want to know anything else .....

Extra! Extra! read all abaht it!

So ..... Who ate all the pies?

Wigan is famous for ...... their pies, did ya not know that? Did ya not?
Just ask Mrs. Tweedy, she'll put ya reet on that one, in fact, she'll probably put ya reet in one.

The Top 10 Pies in Wigan
[Image: hudds4-2-500x383.jpg]

Heinz Baked Beanz

and Rugby League, oh and Athletic winning the FA Cup against the Blue Mancs and disappearing up Dave Whelan's exhaust pipe immediately afterwards. He then handed the reins over to, er, some younger relative or another in a blatant act of nepotism, before finally seeing sense and putting someone else in charge of his inheritance stash. Everything seems to be going well now doesn't it? What? Oh!

3 Amigo's and all that.
Wigan enjoyed a few more seasons in the Greedy League than we did, but just before it got really, really greedy. The man who says VAR would prove he didn't break his leg falling over a Wembley Worm but was indeed fouled in his last ever game, and he's been moaning about it ever since, had brought Wigan RLFC and Wigan Athletic together in the afore mentioned stadium  that he keeps naming after his current business interests, and spent a few bob to get them both to the top (or as near to the top) as he could. He had Bobby Charlton on board as a director at one point until someone at Old Trafford saw sense and reined him back in.

They brought in 3 Spanish Lads while they were in the 3rd Division, or League One as it is now, who apparently could play a bit, and with the help of a few tins of beanz and a few dinners at Asda they soon trumped (parp) everyone to eventually reach the Prima Donna League, or whatever else it was called back then. You know, back when Shky had just invented football.

To be honest, they don't look much like footballers

Then again, neither do this lot

Now before you start thinking your going senile, Wigan beat the Blue Mancs in 2013, I was doubting my sanity too. They were only posing with it, they didn't win it back then. Apparently the ugly one in the middle became their manager for a while. Wonder what he's doing now for a living?  Whistle

Latest news
We've got a new CEO, from Burnalee

Otherwise it's old news but neither of us are kicking up a storm in this division this season.

For Town, Danny Simpson finally got some minutes into his boot laces on Tuesday in a wet and windy game at Charlton. The Wheelies have come off the Chorlton season big time since they got promoted last season with er, Wigan and er, Barnsalee.

“Titchy Pritch has had a further injection in his knee. He’s the type of player who relies on his sharpness."
No news on whether the injections include the use of teaspoons and a fag lighter.

“Super Col is making good process and is back on the grass. He’s not far away, which will be a plus for us. He’s improving by the day.”
It's good to know his choice of recreational substances too.

“Lewis O’Brien, Fraizer Campbell and Jaden Brown are progressing really well."
Which means none of them will start this weekend and not more than one of them will be on the bench.

“We are confident we will have one or two back. Trevoh Chalobah is back available. We’re really pleased to have him back in the group after his fortnight of pulling the talent in Tenerife.”
What?
No, no he's been training in the rain down Leeds Road with the rest of them, honest guv.  Whistle

Last time out
We won, they didn't, but they held on to the Baggies for long enough to get a point out of them.

Last time out when we were at theirs
Nahki Wells tucked home the winner making it two 0-1 wins at theirs on the trot.

Stankovic and Kachunga weren't Too, Shy, Shy to be in the team that day, and some promising young lad called Joel Coleman was on the bench. What is he doing these days and can we make it three?

One of them is in the frame for a recall on Saturday.

Backwards Dancing - There's a Ghost in my House

Do ya not know that R. Dean Taylor's classic is still a favourite track of the backwards dancing, aka Northern Soul, fraternity, that used to frequent Wigan Casino and the likes in that there Lancastria. Do ya not?

Now the first time someone told me that, my gut reaction was ... no @!£$ing way, until I got passed humming that opening geetar riff and chorus.

Top Wigan Bands
[Image: N4pS7Oq_d10KGRfsiCsc77hauRcK3ddxlc3gMWP0...21-h601-no]

Hmmmm - doesn't seem to be a plethora of Northern Soul insipired bands in that lot. Hell, The Verve had a bitter sweet legal symphony going on with the Strolling Bones for many a year until they all kissed and made up and Mick 'n' Keef told them to keep the royalties anyway????
Wtf was all the fuss about then??

So, are you telling me that Wigan's Ovation are not from Wigan then?
Chuff me, I might as well go Skiing in the Snow. If only Wigan ever saw any.  Doh

Apparently they could also have been known as The Invitations, but I may be wrong there.
Sorry, no, enough backwards dancing music for one thread on this one already, I'm not playing anymore.

Now not picking on anyone in particular from that list but apparently .......

Kim Marsh
[Image: 3CD6E4BD00000578-4192884-image-a-18_1486286834890.jpg]
is really famous for two things and I'm not sure that playing a young Ena Sharples and drinking half of stout in the Rovers's snug in Corrie or singing a few songs really covers that. Blush
What do you mean Ena Sharples doesn't drink stout anymore? You'll be telling me next Annie Walker has retired too.  Tongue

It really, really could just be a never ending story, just ask Limahl, he'll put ya reet, will he not?

There's a Paul Cook presser on their website (needs a sign in) but the local press seems to be living in the past.

Apparently they, came at 3:30 am, picked him up off the hospital floor and took him back there (I saw it on the tellybox, I'd got up to exercise my prostrate so I thought I'd put the tellybox on), where he can now lie (to his heart's content) in peace, so that's alright then. Tongue

Keep the wins going chaps, we don't want to turn this into another

I've boogied on down to that in my time. Casanova's in Wakefield, probably.

Does anyone remember Limahl on Lee Mack's TV Heaven Telly Hell? Tried to find a clip but failed.

I believe it's obligatory to mention that Limahl is an anagram of his actual surname. Same name as a paramedic chewing winger we used to have.
