Europa League - Lazio v Celtic
#1
This is probably a fixture that Celtic would love to avoid at this time but it has to be fulfilled and it will be a tricky match v a team that was very unlucky to lose at Celtic Park. Also I would suggest that Celtic fans do not travel to this Rome venue after the poisonous exchanges between fans in the 1st leg tie - unrecommended IMO v opponents who have a nasty fascist element within their fan base.

And following on from my end caveat, two Celtic fans stabbed last night by masked fascist cowards - now in hospital but thankfully without life-threatening injuries! Sadly this kinda shit deflects away from the main interest of looking forward to an interesting match tonight where Celtic could ensure qualification from their EL group with a victory. However, note that the Hoops have never won a Euro match on Italian soil, such is the enormity of the task.

Well they have won one game now on Italian soil. Excellent result for Celtic. That was followed up by a win for Rangers, leaving them with a good chance to join Celtic in the last 32.

Correction re that end line: Celtic have qualified to the KO last 32 stage, NOT RANGERS. Rangers are still embroiled in a "group of death" where any of the four competing clubs can actually qualify.

Good results for the Scottish clubs. Lennon has made Celtic into a more pragmatic side than Rodgers in Europe and last night they got the break their hard work deserved.

Fair play to sevco too, a good win for them too.

Rangers never actually "laid a glove" on Porto until Pepe was injured and had to come off. That was the defining moment in this match which was pretty even until that fortuitous moment when Pepe left the field of play. He "strolled" through this game without too many probs.
