Aberdeen FC v Hibs, Sat 5 Oct, KO 3.00pm

Aberdeen will be "licking their wounds after a 5-0 thrashing at Ibronx in their previous Premiership fixture. So I'd love to see Hibs "take advantage" of this negative position leading in to the game on Saturday afternoon. However, I'm a realist and can't see Hibs winning this match with our current players, particularly up front where we are lacking a lotta quality and goals! IMO a "smash n grab" victory looks like our only realistic option. Therefore another "backs to the wall" plan looks "in order" with a focus on not losing goals and picking up any valuable points that we can gain. I'd love to see our strikers performing, even one goal from any striker, because it is a huge issue and failing that must be redressed asap as the Jan transfer "window" is too distant.

Last couple of games have been stay solid, fight like xxxx and try and sneak a goal. IMO the last 2 games took care of themselves so to speak but the next 2/3 will be where we have to start picking up points.

If you cant win don't lose.

It is what it is, and needs must at times. But boy is it brutal to watch.

FT 1-1 and many hibs fans again "scratching their heads" how Hibs could throw away a positive 0-1 advantage v a ten man Aberdeen team that should've been "finished off" long before that equalising goal by Cosgrove who shouldn't have even been on the pitch to score that goal!! Doidge absolutely useless as a striker of any quality - chance after chance after chance after.... - SQUANDERED AND NEGLIGENT!! Then Kamberi replaces him and set up by Middleton to just "sweep" the baw into the Dons' net with mins to go - hits the damn baw over the bar. Hibs were absolutely clueless how to tackle a situation where they were 0-1 in the lead and in "pole position" to pick up 3 precious pts!! THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!! Do these players really wanna be relegated????? A shocker!!

A bad day at the office for the team but they keep on dropping points far too easily. By the end of the season our inability to finish a game off could see us staring relegation in the face.
I suppose our fans would have grabbed the results against Celtic and now Aberdeen with both hands BUT not the manner we achieved them.
Something is sadly missing and we have to find it before it's too late.

On one hand today was a bit more positive, we at least created some chances. Unfortunately Doidge is absolutely rank - why the xxxx is he playing ?. On the other we ended up defending deep again instead of trying to impose ourselves on the game with a one man advantage. I just don't understand it because Aberdeen are brutal, a team regressing rapidly with a manager who's been there too long. Nothing to be afraid of. The 3 points were there for the taking.

Thing is even as crap as Aberdeen were they nearly ended up winning because of the managers negative, boring brand of fitba. Last three league games we have somehow got in front and came away with 2 points from 9.

It isnae good enough.

I must add I've observed quite a few games where there is a trend unfolding with this Hibs manager when an opposing manager changes his formation and tactics - Heckingbottom stands close to the touch line with his arms folded and watches as his team is being undone BUT HAS NO TACTICAL AWARENESS TO COUNTER WHAT HAS BEEN DONE!!!!! No excuses today when facing 10 Dons' players this afternoon!!!! Thumb down He has no answers to redress this kinda prob - far too cautious!! Therefore he is not able enough to do his job as manager of HFC - HE HAS TO GO!!!

Spot on!

He even had the cheek to say the game changed with the Aberdeen subs. Laugh  The muppet should have gone to 2 up top in the 2nd half but that would have required a bit of bravery.

To be fair we did some things OK today, but next up we have accies, ross county and livi. We need to start getting some wins and climb the table.

I'll add that Hibs could've been four or five up in the 1st hour v the equivalent of a pub team. This tells us that the lads actually played well today with some vg possession footie. Doidge is a useless bastard when it comes to striking and he is also a greedy bastard when deciding not to pass in Scotty Allan (he was "kicked off the park" today!!) to score a certain goal to give Hibs a 0-2 advantage and IMO "game over"!! OK if Doidge had scored but he scorned another of his four scoring opps!!! Thumb down Agreed that Heckingbottom should've changed to "two up front" and removed either of our useless wingers - a simple "tweak" v 10 man opponents!!!!!!!!! Also one big "positive" for all to see is the fact that Hallberg looks like a "real find" and it was so frustrating to see him getting injured at a crucial part of the game - IMO a factor in Hibs conceding that equalising goal because his replacement, Newell, is a hopeless replacement!! This move by Heckingbottom was the equivalent of us playing with 10 players!!
