I'll bet!!! No "fighting talk" from this Hibs manager eh and it just confirms to me that my initial suggestion to sack him in August, just after Hibs were thrashed 6-1 by Rangers at Ibronx, was "spot on" mainly because of the insipid display that Hibs fans observed on that fateful afternoon in Govan and the clear deterioration of Hibs form in the weeks that followed!! We should've sacked him there n then because it was an utter disgrace and just confirmed how good a manager we previously had in Neil Lennon and the way he "went about his business"!! He organised his teams, chose new players wisely and had great motivational skills!!

Who knows ?
Just about every post match interview he gives leaves more questions than answers. I honestly don't know how he ever made it as a manager.

looks like he has been given the dreaded 'vote of confidence'.....the board have no intention of removing him any time soon. I just feel he is the patsy for the board, after Lennon they needed a sap and a 'yes man' in place because Neil kept pushing and pushing them to make hibs better and improve and that wasn't what they wanted.
He's just there for the dough, he doesn't get the club and neither do the players he's brought in. The board are simply delaying the inevitable.

Good comments Jim. I reckon he'll be gone before Hibs AGM is convened prob in Nov with Ron Gordon formally introduced to shareholders and the last thing Dempster and Hibs FC want is a scene at this meeting involving angry fans/shareholders like me "breaking protocol" and demanding answers on this dreadful appointment of Heckingbottom and the failure of Hibs pre-season ST "sales pitch" promising "an exciting season ahead" - I won't be "taking any prisoners" if this scenario arises but hopefully he'll be gone before then. I know Leeann D and respect her but I have always had a distant association with her following previous spats re ticketing allocations and policy in which she had "changed her stance" and many shareholders "begged to differ" in a frank exchange of opinion but it was all part of constructive debate without "losing friends" on the issues.

Ha ha ha!! Yep! Plus his cherished, tried n tested cautious plan A with "one up top" and no diversification from said plan lol!! He has been well sussed by lots n lots of Hibs fans to the point where many of them can at least "dream" of a "change for the better" - i.e. a new forward-thinking manager!

Do you think he would be tempted to apply for his old job back in Barnsley?

I don't think so LS. I think he regards himself to be in a safe position at the mo as Hibs don't look like a team that will be relegated. He deploys an effective plan that he has clearly used before but IMO his problem is that he doesn't have the requisite players to carry it out properly. Not having any functional striker is an absolute "killer" for any footie team no matter what plan or tactics that the manager deploys.
