Celtic v Hibs, Wed 6 Feb, KO 7.45pm

Well this will be a "tough ask" for managerless Hibs v a Hoops' team that has now registered 5 x consecutive wins for the 1st time this season. However, there is a small "ray of hope" if one looks closely at Celtic's current injury list - Forrest and Edouard added to the list and Ajer suspended. Celtic definitely weakened in central defence and I think the time is right to drop Kamberi and give Mark McNulty an opp to score goals at Celtic Park, something Kamberi is not gonna do even though his scoring record is good v Celtic. Also beware of a top player/forward named Timothy Weah at a time when Hibs defence must be "shored up" properly - too sloppy!

They will definitely be playing a large number of fringe players for this.... so who knows if we approach the game properly ?

Thing is Lennon knew how to handle these games and get the players up for it, will Eddie may (who clearly doesnae want to be there) ?

Our players bottle has well and truly crashed recently and unless Eddie May breaks up the dead wood in the team I can see us getting worked over at Parkhead.
Celtic will not easily forget we beat them 2-0 last time out and will want to put us in our place. A 2-0 defeat will be a decent score on Wednesday.
Hope I`m badly wrong though.

Yep! I agree Wattie! I think we will get a "doing" on Wednesday night and this time by a makeshift Celtic side and that will be embarrassing TBF!! If I was Eddie May, I'd push on to Izaguirre's LB position as well as Celtic's central defence - there are defensive "chinks" to be exploited but I'll be surprised if Hibs do exploit them!! The game will be won in the midfield area and who is there to do the effective job in nullifying Celtic's forays in this area? I'd actually be tempted to "man mark" Broony but there are others who can "do damage". My clarion call would be "restrict their movement but play positively"!

0762,
Spot on with your assessment on the game I think this is one game where we'll be lost without players like John McGinn and Scott Allan. It could be a long night for our loyal fans.

1-0 to Celtic at HT, a bit of a hill for Hibs to climb in the 2nd half.

Cracking game at Pittodrie seems to be in progress, 3-2 to Rangers as I type this and two pens awarded so far, one for each side.

And now there are two red cards within a minute of each other at Aberdeen - McKenna off for the Dons and Morelos off for Rangers!!

FT 2-0 and a comfortable win for Celtic. No shots on target for Hibs and Celtic have still not lost a goal this year but more bad news as another injury incurred - Izaguirre stretchered off this time! Aberdeen or Rangers were gonna drop pts tonight and it's the Dons who stall which will suit Celtic as I regard them as a slightly bigger threat than Rangers who are definitely gonna drop more pts. IMO Hibs need to give Kamberi a rest and finally focus on another strike pairing! As for the defeat? It was a respectable score and thankfully not a rout. This team really needs some kinda "lift"asap!

Got to agree,Kamberi is a much poorer player than he was earlier in the season and appears to have lost interest. A lot of it must be due to his fall out with Lennon and he could probably benefit from a rest. It's become pretty obvious that we should start preparing for next season because we will finish 8th or 9rh at best.

We were awful....abysmal.

Depressing to see how every Celtic player was so much faster than ours. The team is devoid of leadership. May looks like he couldn't care less.

IMO Hibs "shot themselves in the foot" when John McGinn was sold and they were not prepared to compensate for that loss!! That midfield discrepancy has been "glaring" ever since that deal was concluded!! We removed a midfield dynamo and never really replaced him. His previous club, St Mirren, similarly suffered after losing him to Hibs but they were subsequently relegated!
