I am sure everyone had a good Xmas and a great New Year, but none of it made a jot of difference to our prediction skills and so we see the same old lack of decent scores across the board this week!! Just 39 points in total, a complete washout on the Gamball (I blame Beefy for this one!!) and five of the games scored zero or less total points!! It seems this season that everyone is having problems with their balls with only one player getting any points on the Bonus and only half of us even managing to pick a game where both teams scored!!
Joint top this week are our league leader BBB and Zinman on 8 points, BBB is there ironically courtesy of doing a “Zinny” and not playing his Gamball, which saved him 3 points in the end. Zinman himself had one of those rare moments where he did play it, and it cost him 3 points, I think it might be a while before we see the Doh next to his scores!! One point behind them on 7 points is SCO mainly down to having the highest number of correct results this week with 4.
Beefy must have a bit of a nose bleed this week as he is up in 4th place on 4 points, closely followed by 3 players with 3 points - Sanjay, Amelia and Matt. Only noteworthy thing here is that Sanjay was the only person to get points on either the Gamball or the BB with a correct result on the bonus!!
The bottom three this week were WorldClass, Lord Snooty and bottom of the pile Derby but in reality it was so poor across the board I think none of them will lose much ground in the table. I suppose it’s appropriate that Derby should be last after all of us predicted that Frank Lampard’s version would win or draw this week!!!
Cheers

Into a new year and BBB opens up a 12 point lead at the top as the chasers have their very own game of musical chairs, with Zinman, 2nd in the league last year, occupying that familiar berth this time around as he climbs 2 places and top scores for the week even though he manned up and succumbed to the Gamball and promptly lost 3 points for his risk. No doubt back to "pussi" for next week.
St Charles joined Matt in a share of 3rd, the former climbing a spot while the latter drops one, though they’re both only a correct result away from2nd.
Worldclass was heading for a nightmare week until his super Sunday made sure he didn’t lose too much ground on those above him as he sits 5th, while Derby did lose a few points on everyone around him as he failed to trouble the scorer this week and remained in 6th.
In a week of wholly average scoring Sanjay did edge closer in 7th and is only 10 points away from 3rd in a very tight league this season and Beefy is just another half a dozen points further back in 8th.
Amelia and Snooty are both still comfortably holding onto the relegation places with a fair few points to make up if they’re not going to be facing the drop together at the end of the season.
Bomber
A new year but the same old gamball problems. Not a single correct prediction for this evil output from Beefy's twisted imagination - ban it, I say, ban it!
OK, nursey has brought me my pills so on with this week's results. Top of the pile is Stairs, continuing his pre-Christmas form, with 15 points from 6 correct predictions including the bonus and score ball. Stairs also got 2 of the 6 correct score predictions - no wonder he scored almost twice as many points as his closest rival. Second place goes to Quantum, once again helped by his decision not to play the gamball (which, just like his other balls he got wrong) - maybe a lesson here for everybody - stop playing with your balls.
Themaclad and Bomber share 3rd place with 7 points, both helped by their bonuses before another gap to Baggie_One with a lowly 4 points though that was 7 more than he started with before Sunday's 2 games! Twerton was another staring at the possibility of a negative week until he was saved by his one correct score prediction on QPR - Leeds.
Joker's efforts to climb the table won't have been helped by his 2 points this week but at least he was denied his usual place by 4eva who clearly thought he was on a TV quiz show.
Zin
In a week when more points were scored by the 8 participants in the Championship than their 10 Premiership counterparts Themaclad retained his 9 point lead at the top but to a different challenger in the form of Quantum climbing into 2nd, who owed much to Sundays games which doubled his overnight total from Saturday.
2nd to 4th seem to change places every week although Bomber did hang onto 3rd just a point further back while 4eva’s blank week saw him slip a couple of places dropping down into 4th on the back of another incorrect Bonus Ball, his 16th loss of the season so far.
Stairs propelled himself up 2 places into 5th by topping the weekly table and moving 3 points clear of Twerton slipping back into 6th another to benefit from the Sunday games after being in the negative overnight.
Even more so BaggieOne who but for his near maximum haul on Sunday would have found himself staring at a serious minus week which would have cost more than just the place he lost to sit in 7th, though he looks in little danger of landing the wooden spoon as Joker did little to overturn any of his 68 point deficit that he sits adrift at the bottom with.
