Rangers v Celtic

Well tomorrow's match at Ibronx is different in the fact that there will only be 750 Hoops' fans attending the match and it would be a fitting moment for Celtic to mete out a decent win over them particularly after their creation of this crowd restriction! They are trying to make Goldson fit and I'd suggest Rodgers focuses on his position anyway as well as Tavernier's defensive position - that ploy will "pay dividends" and I'll predict a 0-3 or 0-4 Celtic win without that normal 7k away support cheering them on but I'm still curious to observe the ref performance which I reckon it could be contentious due to some "suspicious ref activities" leading up to this game although Rodgers and Celtic just "brush them aside anyway". He'll definitely play Edouard to add real quality to Celtic's attack and his defence will be strong.

Celtic should win this game easily but you never know in these derby games. Rangers are certainly improved compared to what they were but still someway behind Celtic, who have stuttered a bit this season.

Form says otherwise and Celtic have not been beaten by them for quite a long time. IMO the Aberdeen match was a nice bit of prep just before this one.

rangers have pretty much the identical points total they had at this stage of the season under warbs and mad Pedro though. Is that really improvement.? By the looks of it Gerrard has been financially supported far more than those other guys too. Whats really changed this season is that Celtic have dropped a lot more points away from home otherwise it wouldn't even be a contest at this stage.

To be fair Gerrard did well to get them to the group stages of the europa after having little time to prepare, but he had the easiest teams possible in their group and only managed to win twice.

Celtic are a far better side and if they turn up they should win.

1-0 sevco at the interval, and they should be further ahead. Celtic have fielded an odd lineup today due to players not being 100% fit and haven't really got going.

Big chance for the huns to go joint top.

And so the derby produces the surprise result, although by the sounds of it the win was deserved. Keeps the title alive for now.

Celtic's team bus attacked outside the stadium before the match and this incident reminds me very much of Man City's visit to Annfield last season before that crucial Champions League 1st leg when Guardiola's team "never showed up" and I thought at the time that Liverpool FC were "let off" very lightly by UEFA re that violent incident to intimidate a visiting team and the intimidation was successful!!! Now we have another incident/attack preceding a match where Celtic similarly did not show up and indeed probably played out one of the worst performances under Brendan Rodgers stewardship. Mere coincidence? Is it ####!! And a massive Police presence mustered following that disgraceful incident amid huge intimidation of Celtic players by desperate people!! If it was any other footie club in Scotland, I doubt this kinda topic would be debated. Throw in the sectarian poison that was evident before and throughout this game and footie sadly becomes a secondary subject!!! Action please SFA and lets make it tough eh!!!

No doubt the huns having nearly all the tickets today helped them. However nothing Rodgers did worked today, playing McGregor at LB ?? Forrest on the wrong side? Broony and ntcham looked well off the pace too and they started with a young winger playing up top.

Sevco did well, they pressed Celtics centre backs and brown and forced them to play in their own half and profited from it. For all their dominance they still only won via a deflected strike though, if they are to challenge they need more quality up top.

Rodgers also needs to re-shuffle his pack in January. Things going to be interesting after the break.

There is also one other relevant issue to debate re this result and that is the missing Rogic who is a "huge player" for Celtic in this fixture. Also Benkovic is a "rock" in Celtic's defence and I didn't realise he was gonna be missing from that Celtic defence as Boyata was awful in this game and I think he missed his steadying partner alongside him. Lastly, Tierney's omission just compounded the prob - these three players were hugely missed for this type of match, no denying it! But looking positively at it, Celtic are still top of the Scot Premiership at the turn of the year and have a "game in hand". They won't play as badly as that again, injured players will return and Rodgers will strengthen in January!

Have to say as well the atmosphere at this game was particularly poisonous, what kind of sub human scum try and use a football rivalry to point score on child abuse???
