Prediction League Results/Tables Week 14
#1

Consistent scoring week with a bunch of posters scoring around the same points and only a couple of stragglers falling back.  Leading the pack this week was Sanjay with 17 points courtesy of a CS on the BB and CR on the Gamball. Derby is in joint 2nd spot dropping from joint top spot with Wolves loss!! Like Huddersfield, Snoots finally had a decent week with 15 points and as he played the BB on their game he picked up some valuable points in a game that cost most points!! Zinman rounds out the top 4 with 13 points, picking up points on half his predictions and surprisingly not only playing the Gamball but actually picking up points on it as well!!

Two of the PL front runners, BBB and Matt, came in next on 12 points each, BBB picking up a CS on the BB, while Matt picked up points on all of balls. Unfortunately for them the PL leader SCO came in next only one point behind them, so no real damage done to the lead at the top of the table hopefully!! Whistle Amelia was next on 9 points and like Snoots picked up points on an optimistic prediction on the Terriers.

We then drop a bit into the bargain basement where first we find Beefy on 5 points. He keep promising that 20+ point week but it would appear the pressure of producing a decent performance gets to him and he just seems to be sliding further down the table each week!!!! Bringing up the rear this week is Worldclass on just 2 points. He has had a great run over the past few weeks so I suppose he was due a bad one, I expect next week we will see him be back above Beefy, leaving the large one to continue down the PL table!!!

Cheers
SCO

The top two stay as they were last week as only a point separating them in this weeks scoring charts as St Charles had his lead clipped at the top of the pile to three points down to BBB in 2nd.

Similarly the six point lead over 3rd placed Matt stays the same, though Derby makes huge strides climbing three places into a share of that 3rd spot adding 60 points in the last four weeks when at the start of that surge he was down in a lowly 8th, joining the party in equal 3rd and making it three in a bed is Zinman Rolleyes who also climbs a couple of places, helped by playing the Gamball for only the fourth time this season and getting the result right for the third time.

Sanjay makes up the trio of climbers this week with a leap of two places up into 6th courtesy of topping the leaderboard this week.

If players move up the table then others have to fall and this week Worldclass was the biggest loser plunging four places down the table to occupy 7th while Beefy didn’t live up to his own expectations though did confirm everybody else’s as he fell another spot into the end of season relegation play-off spot of 8th.

It’s worth mentioning that only 22 points separate 1st down to 8th so a couple of good weeks here and there could see positions changing more than a couple of chapters in the karma sutra  Blush .

Amelia edged closer to the pack with one of her better weeks while Snooty will be buoyed by his score this week and although still some way from safety will hope that this is a sign of things to come, much like the pairs beloved Terriers  Thumb up .

The number of correct result predictions was quite reasonable this week, which makes it rather strange that given a free shot of choosing their bonus ball, not one competitor in the Championship managed to get the bonus correct! To compensate, everyone managed to get an extra point from the score ball (not surprising as only Wolverhampton Galacticos failed to hit the net). Almost a full house on the gamball with only one player losing points (and you'll never guess who!)

The table this week seems to have a very familiar look to it. Bomber has been struggling in the lower division for a long time but finally seems to be getting the hang of this game, taking his place at the top of the table for the second week in a row - 17 points from 7 correct result predictions. 4eva and Themaclad share 2nd place with identical records before a gap to the rest.

BaggieOne takes 4th just ahead of Stairs. Quantum chose not to play the gamball - wisely as he was one of only 2 players not to predict a Vil*a victory - and avoided bottom place as a result. Twerton only got 2 correct predictions but still managed to avoid the wooden spoon.

Which brings us to Joker, bottom once again - some things are more predictable than others!

The Championship is now down to just 8 players and with two up and another into the play-offs it should mean that success and failure are not far away from anyone.

Bomber moves up a place and into a share of top spot to keep Themaclad company for the first time this season after owning solitary top of the league status since the opening week, as the pair pull a dozen points clear of the chasing pack.

Quantum falls into that 3rd spot dropping from a share of 2nd last week after being on the wrong end of a 12 point swing this week which also allowed 4eva to close within three points in 4th, though another calamitous Bonus Ball took another two points off this week for the twelfth time this season.

There’s a thirty odd point gap down to Stairs in 5th though he did pass the century mark for this season, as did BaggieOne who sits just a point further back in 6th.

Twerton did little to help his plight, ten points away in 7th and is still short of his three figures for the season, but can probably rest easy that bottom spot seems to in the safe keeping of Joker who is nothing but not consistent week after week  Thumb down .

Nearly 20 points, Beefy. Looks like you could be changing places with Bomber next season.

I cant stand watching the Play Offs never mind taking part in them ..........
So I categorically refuse to take part in them ..........
Anyway the play offs for relegation have never been involved in the prediction League,so let that rule be removed immediately ........
Whose stupid Idea was that ?
Hang on you getting to the point where you had me believing I was going to be in relegation trouble .......
Ha ha well done guys, you know I come on strongly after Christmas, You know I will be more challenging for the title rather than anything else Thumb up
