When one observes that the MOTM in this match was the Livy goalie, Kelly, it becomes more apparent that Celtic should've won this match reasonably comfortably albeit on an artificial pitch that IMO should be banned by our esteemed football authority. It is a "leveller", can damage players and should not be allowed in any pro footie set up. However, the Hoops adapted well to this change and did enough to dominate the game and win it. No matter! It's another pt gained and now "topping" the Scot Premiership again esp after a gruelling Euro League game v RB Leipzig on Thursday night.

As both us and sevco have found out already this season that pitch gives the home side a real advantage, especially with the way livingston play. That said i didn't think celtic looked 'up for it' the day when they really needed to be. The games after europe have been a real issue for them.
Wouldn't surprise me if other clubs start getting these kind of pitches as well.

I thought Celtic did enough to win this match v a team that was clearly hellbent on defending a nil score line on that pitch. I think the SFA really needed to stand firm re these kinda pitches being proposed for use in a top footie league - it is detrimental to the required decent standard of footie for a top soccer league. They conceded on it, unlike the English FA who effectively placed a moratorium on any future use. i.e. the surface must be better than currently produced but they will monitor and assess if that position will be reversed.

The only thing these pitches have going for them is they are less likely to be unplayable in bad weather. For a team that can play football and have good movement they are a complete disaster.

You can observe the way players move furtively across this kinda pitch, the movement of the ball is different from grass, kicking the requires a different technique and timing and the bounce of the ball is unreal because of the hard foundation underneath this type of artificial pitch and that's also one of the reasons that players are wary of jumping and landing on their heels - can cause damage, some of it very serious (if unlucky on the landing) and out injured, long term!

Great to see Livy's CF, Wenga, being scrutinised by the SFA ref scrutiny panel after that stupid head butt incident against Ryan Christie who ignored Wenga's head "in his face" and just focused on the Livy corner kick that was coming in to the Hoops' pen box. The best response possible - ignore the #### although another dumb SFA referee didn't do his job properly again!!
