Huddersfield Town come into this game sitting at the bottom of the league. Doom and gloom you might say? Not me.
After a pretty bad start to the season, over the last few games we have come back into it more and started to play some decent stuff.
We still aren't picking up the points (or goals), but that will come.

Burnley come into this game after a 2nd straight league win eased them further away from the bottom 3, with a 5 point cushion. It was an away win at new boys Cardiff, with goals from Vokes and Guðmundsson moving them up to 12th.
That doesn't tell the whole story though. Cardiff had 20 attempts (5 on target) compared to Burnley's woeful 3 attempts and 2 on target. This seems to be a theme for Burnley away, as their last away game v Wolves the attempts and on target for both teams was...Wolves 30(7) and Burnley 7(2).

However, it is to Burnley we go. Their last home game gave them their first win of the season....a thumping 4-0 win v Bornmuff. Again this doesn't tell the whole story as attempts and on target were Burnley 12(5) and Bornmuff 19(5).
So it seems that teams are dominating Burnley at the moment both in attempts and possession, but Burnley seem to be more clinical in front of goal.
Watch out Town...we could well dominate attempts and possession in this game, and run out getting beat again.

Interesting facts about Burnley....
1) Burnley are one of only three teams to have won all four divisional titles, along with Wolves and Preston.
2) Only local rivals Preston have occupied the same ground for longer than Burnley, who moved into Turf Moor in 1883.

This is Town's 8th league game of the season.
This is also Town's 100th 8th league game ever (inc the 2 non league seasons).
Our previous record for our 8th game is W37 D25 L35.
In the top flight it has been W13 D7 L11
Some memorable 8th league matches include a 6-1 win at home v Sheff Utd in 1933-4 and a 7-1 home win v Port Vale in our 4th Division championship winning season of 1979-80.
The team we have played the most in our 8th league game is Everton (6 times)....including an amazing streak of playing them 4 seasons in a row with an interruption for WW2 from 1936-7 to 1945-6 (W3 L1).



TRAVEL PLANS



For this game, around 165 Town supporters are walking the 26 miles from the John Smith's stadium to Turf Moor as part of the sponsored Wilson Walk event. They will be setting off at around 3am on Saturday.
They are paying tribute to Town legend Ray Wilson MBE.
Chairman Dean Hoyle and his wife, Janet, will be taking part in the walk, alongside former Town Manager Peter Jackson and members of the Wilson family.
The walk will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as well as the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to the Wilson family’s heart.

If you are not planning to do this walk and are going to the game which is a sell out for Town fans (2,458 tickets)....


By Car:
Exit M65 at junction 12 and follow signs to ‘Burnley North A682,’ over two roundabouts and into Colne Road.
After 1.5 miles, turn left at the lights into Casterton Avenue.
After another half mile, go straight on at another roundabout, follow signs for ‘Rochdale A6114,’ into Eastern Avenue.
After 1.5 miles, you will be on Belvedere Road and the stadium is there.

By train:
The nearest station is Burnley Manchester Road. From here, exit the station and walk down Centenary Way.
When you reach the roundabout at the end of the road, turn right onto Yorkshire Street, which becomes Harry Potts Way.
The ground is on your left hand side.

From Burnley Central, follow signs for the town centre and then head left towards the ‘Gala’ Bingo Hall.
From here, walk down Yorkshire Street and use instructions from above.

Hopefully wagner goes two at centre half, with or without schindler, I can see stankovic struggling against voakes and/or wood so if schindler is out theres a lot on zankas shoulders, but I think thats what he likes best

This time last season I was in Toronto, drinking about 4 large mugs of coffee, eating my breakfast, watching us beat Moaning Maureen's Red Mancs 2-1 in the rain. This season I'm back in Toronto ....... hoping for a similar start to the weekend.


However - it might not be so easy with our defence likely being shuffled due to last week's injuries.
