Buxton kicked off the first half against Marine and they had the best opening chance of the game when Liam Hardy had the ball fed through to him and he had a shot at goal only for the Marine keeper to tip around the post for a corner. On the half hour mark there was a great effort by Marine where a Marine player got the ball in midfield and smashed a shot from 25 yards which just flew over the ball. Up till Half-time both teams battled it out in midfield.

The second half was a lot more wide open and Marine came out like a totally different team from the first half. They put the Bucks under a lot pressure straight from the whistle and took the lead not long after when the Marine Number 10 skipped and weaved his way past three defenders and fired it home past the Buxton keeper.

That goal roared Buxton on to try and find a way back into the game when Ludlam won the ball in midfield and fed Liam Hardy through on goal only for the striker to put it wide of the keeper and the post. Soon after Buxton had another chance when they received the ball on the edge of the area and Stevens took a shot which just brushed the post.

Marine put a lot of pressure on Buxton and nearly got a second when the Marine Number 10 crossed the ball in and wasn't cleared properly by the Buxton keeper and a Marine player volleyed a shot which was blocked by a Buxton defender. Buxton had another good chance from a set-piece when a corner was swung in from the right hand side only for a Buxton player to head it onto the bar. Not soon after they hit the bar Buxton broke through when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area and Burberry smashed it as it hit both posts and went into the back of the net.

Both teams tried to look for a winner before the end and Marine thought they had it when the Marine Number 10 crossed the ball into the box and the Marine Number 9 put it in the net only for it to be ruled out for offside.
