Haven't followed him very closely but I can't say he's ever impressed me. Surely we can look higher.

Not exactly covered in glory. Was it two very short tenures at Blackpool and Blackburn?

It's a Interesting one, if you go onto Oxford's forums they love Appy saying he got them promoted and to two EPL cup finals playing the best football they have see in years .......
But as you say Amelia other ventures are less than underwhelming, however we have been screaming out for a younger left field manager and if his Oxford days are anything to go by who knows, he's a EX Baggie player and his arms are massive Laugh so would sort one or two Idiots out in the squad Whistle

God help you!!!! Aside from the his dubious personal life, he is so boring both as a person and how his teams often play!!! He is a manager that needs to retire from anything above League 2 level!!

Also assuming you are going down I can’t see Appleton being the one to have you challenging next season. He feels like an Alan Irvine type, a good assistant but maybe not the head guy!!

But would a 'higher' manager be interested in coming to a club in decline which needs a total clear out but with very limited budget?

We need to do everything we can to try to get them interested! If not, THEN we go to Appy/Pearson/whoever/
But not Dave Jones.
