The Livermore incident

So the answers are out, apparently the incident was caused by a supposed West Ham fan. I say supposed, as I find it hard to believe that any real fan of football would do what this piece of scum did. He alleged made some not very nice comments about Livermore's dead son, we have all ribbed players in the past, but some things though are sacrosanct such as the death of a small child. West Ham seem to be taking the matter seriously as they ejected the scum from the ground and are considering a banning order.

For fear of getting the same crap as I got before on another board, the Victoria Beckham stuff is not appropriate nor any offensive comments about women, race, sexual persuasion or other. I dislike the insinuation that anything is more acceptable, to be honest. But, yes, if this is true, the West Ham "fan" should have everything the law can throw at him.

Amelia, you are totally correct, nobody should be subject to verbal, mental or physical abuse. Just because you are in the public eye does not make you and your family a legitimate target for this disgusting abuse. You should treat people the way you expect your friends and family to be treated.

Amelia your statement is totally correct and I have edited the comment. No player or anyone else at work for that matter should ever have to suffer abuse of any nature. I am surprised you found you got abuse elsewhere for stating something which is correct and I do not believe anyone on this board would ever give you any crap for your post. I apologise for using the example I did, the reason I did use that one was it was one of the worst examples I could think of since the throwing of bananas at our black players in the 70's and making monkey noises.

Don't be daft! I didn't believe there was any malice - I know the Baggies on here are a very fair-minded bunch. It's ok and I appreciate the sentiment of your post, in any case.

Just been reading the West Ham boards over this issue 3 pages of, 'if its true' (to be fair as we would) slating this person and what should happen to them most not very nice things, they also put two women in the frame as well for laughing, there was also some saying he may have misheard and what was actually said was yid and not kid, personally that makes no sense to me and would not really mitigate his actions anyway. Good to see fans are generally real fans, sadly the last page got took over by some posting about a burglary at McClean's house during the game.

Salop, not quite sure if I understood this bit but having worked in London the term "Yid" is an abusive term used to describe Tottenham, I think it's to do with their Jewish roots ...... a bit like dingles. They maybe what their referring to ..... I do not know what is alleged to have been said exactly only that it referred to a sad and distressing time for Jake, his family and friends.
