The nerve-wracking curling competition continues with the Men beating Denmark 7-6 with the last stone and the Women beating Switzerland 8-7 with the last stone. There are still one or two errors but that is to be expected in high pressure situations. The important thing is that both teams are standing firm and playing as solid units. More of the same please in the next 2 games.
Brad Hall and Joel Fearon fell away slightly to finish in 12th position in the 2-man Bob, but were inside their target of Top 15. Both will be competing in the 4-man Bob on Friday and Saturday and will use these runs as a good practice session. The 2-man event Gold Medal was shared by Canada and Germany with a dead-heat.
Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland have qualified for the Free Dance programme in 10th place and will skate again tomorrow at 01.00, dancing to Butterflies and Hurricanes by Muse.
In the Ski Halfpipe, Rowan Cheshire has progressed to the Final 3 runs tomorrow starting at 01.30 in 9th place, but Molly Summerhayes dropped out in 17th place. In the Snowboard Big Air, Aimee Fuller fell twice in her runs and was a bit battered and bruised.
The Men's Ski Half-pipe Qualifiers begin tomorrow at 04.15 with Peter Speight, Alexander Glavatsky-Yeadon and Murray Buchan representing GB.
The GB Women Bobsleigh team of Mica McNeill and Mica Moore had 2 very good results in their training runs, finishing 2nd and 3rd and will look forward to take that form into the competition starting at 11.50 tomorrow. The Crowdfunded athletes will be trying to repay the faith shown by the public.
Kathryn Thomson is in Heat 4 in the Ladies' 1000m Short Track Skating with Elise Christie (fitness permitting) in Heat 5 and Charlotte Gilmartin in Heat 8. The Heats start at 10.00 and the first 2 in each Heat will progress to the Quarter-finals (and beyond) on Thursday.
