Fancy a holiday?

West Brom's final pre-season friendly has been announced and it is against Pepe Mel's Deportivo La Coruña in the Teresa Herrera Trophy. The match is being played in the lovely Spanish city of Coruña in Galicia which is located in the north-west of Spain. I spent a week on holiday in Coruña almost three years ago and it is a nice city with good history as well as your typical Spanish sun and sea.

I'm Going on Holiday tomorrow thanks Josh
You poor souls wont hear from me until the weekend after next at the earliest,
I'm off to a place called Challaborough Bay near your neck off the woods actually Josh,18 miles from Plymouth,
Its a lovely small bay and very remote 15 miles of lanes before you get there,
Its so remote the is no WI-FI or phone reception unless you walk across to Burgh Island when the tide is out,
It's the only time to get to it unless you're a good swimmer Rolleyes
Wish we could have a home friendly again before the season starts Confused

Have a good holiday Beefy. I wish I could say that I'll miss you on here but I won't.  Smartass

I remember when our last pre-season friendly of the summer was always a home match against a foreign team. I can't remember all of them but I do remember Real Mallorca in 2008 under Mowbray (We signed Borja Valero after that match) and then Chievo Verona a few years later which I went to see with my father. The Hawthorns was half full and there were 3 Chievo Verona fans with about 6 flags and banners in attendance. I think we won that day.

Talksaft, south Cornwall will become unbearable very soon with the influx of dawdling tourists who clog up the roads and beaches. Doh

Have a great trip Beefy and I do hope the sun shines for you.

Being in the travel industry since the mid 1960's, I have travelled the world extensively but I have always had a soft spot for South Devon & Cornwall especially as I spent a lot of time in my early teens in Torquay where my father lived and practiced osteopathy and acupuncture.

I recently took a group of 22 to Krakow which is a wonderful city - very clean, very friendly, very reasonable prices with many good restaurants and hotels. Highly recommended. The sobering part of the trip was a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau and it is difficult to believe that the atrocities happened there are in living memory with the murder of 2.5m men, women and children. How any human being can do that to another is incomprehensible and it brings today's football with all its money into perspective.
