Laurie Cunningham opens the scoring against Liverpool with Emlyn Hughes and Ray Clemence powerless to stop him, 23rd September 1978

It's all gone a bit Shane Long recently, hasn't it? That 3-1 win against Arsenal that gave us hope for the remainder of the season now seems a distant memory, and we haven't scored a single goal for three full matches. Frustrations abound with the poor form of Rondon, the inconsistency/anonymity of Chadli and our lack of ideas in breaking teams down outside of set-pieces. In many ways it's probably for the best that we have an enforced fortnight's break following this Sunday's match against Liverpool.

Can we hope for anything from the Reds, given our form in April? Well, if there's a crumb of comfort it's that we're usually better against them at the Hawthorns than at Anfield, and we may also up our game for the "big" team, as we so often do. But they will be the favourites, and we will more than likely have to put up our usual defensive masterclass and nick what we can on the counter.

The record fifty-point haul remains do-able, but expectations are fading; even a point here (particularly a score-draw) would help to keep hopes alive a little while longer.

I had a bad feeling against the Saints last week,
I have a good feeling against Liverpool on Saturday
Just saying Wink

Nothing more would give me pleasure than to beat Klipperty klopp
And then all the players can hold hands with TP and Celebrate in front of the Brummie ....

How funny would that be Laugh

Also

One amazing stat .......................

But Albion fans might also take some optimism from a quite astonishing record Tony Pulis has against the Reds.

The Welshman has never lost a Premier League home game against Liverpool - with any of the teams he has managed!

Pulis has frustrated Liverpool over the years, orchestrating nine home draws since a first meeting in 2008.

Liverpool's only away success against Pulis came in a 2011 League Cup clash when he was in charge of Stoke City.

I haven't got a clue about predicting Albion's results any more, nor anyone else's for that matter.

Was that the match we drew 1-1? And Liverpool's equaliser came when Dalglish hid behind the BRE goalpost?........

Tony Godden (not seeing him) casually rolled the ball forward in his empty penalty area only for Kenny D to come out the shadows, and nick the ball from him, and slot it into the empty net.
Have you got a video of that one, Ska'd?
The crafty barsteward! All the BRE were shouting: "He's BEHIND you"!

Yeah, that's the one. I don't think any video footage exists of the game; I've certainly never unearthed any.
