Morton v Hibs, 8 April, KO 3.00pm
#1
Another match and another poss 3 pts for Hibs to consolidate their top position with few games remaining until season end - the finishing line is in sight! However, this game is potentially a 'powder keg' for reasons that are not conducive to the sport of footie. All because of the actions of one Morton player TBF who 'sparked' a feisty match at ER into a pitch brawl. Now they have their return fixture v Hibs at Cappielow and I hope they don't try an 'offended party' routine because they were clearly not the victims and were indeed the offenders!! Thumb down I suspect the SFA will likely appoint one of their more experienced refs to officiate the game but I also reckon that it will prob be a 'damp squib' of a game after all the media hype etc that followed that melee. David Gray is fit again, as is likely with Paul Hanlon too. If I was Lenny, I'd leave Darren McGregor on the subs' bench even if he is not suspended but that's just my view. Brian Graham to start up front with Jason? I dunno what to make of Graham TBF! Poss not being started enough in matches? Hence his poor striking ability and general contribution in games? It's a pity Humphrey isn't fit to change it a wee bit but it looks like Boyly will be the main feeder again on Hibs right wing. I hope he plays well and gives their defence a 'hard time'. C'mon Hibs - gotta keep up the momentum in front of a big travelling support!

Appearently Bobby Madden is the ref on sat 0762. He's not the best but better than the crap we've had this season as long as he's strong I agree POWDERKEG is best way to discribe this game best way HFC can shut them up is take all 3points and put this to bed.

Hopefully as you mention HFC take another large travelling support to cheer them on

I'm just hoping Madden just follows his instructions from the SFA and applies a strict but impartial control of this match. IMO he has no great liking, one way or the other, for Morton or Hibs. So it's a case of him hopefully applying his ref experience and having a good game.

Madden is a proven cheating bastard and we should expect no favours from him. He has delivered some real rotten performances in games involving hibs, fucks sake he should have been demoted after that old firm game. Any other association would have done.

I can only hope the SFA have told him to 'keep a lid' on the game at the weekend after the events of the other week, but I'm not hopeful.

Well another point when it should have been 3 Bobby madden again will be the only man who will be able to explain why he denied HFC a clear cut penalty when the Morton player clearly stops Bowles shot with his arm.
Really annoyed at darren McGregor tho to give away the penalty he made a tackle when there was no need to tackle all he had to do is jockey the player to the bye line.

Ah well no harm done I suppose with Falkirk & dundee utd dropping points also

Ditto re Darren McGreg's challenge!!!!!! Why make that challenge at all??? Hibs season has been riddled with these occasional irritating incidents incl the the ref ones and that's another 'balloon Bobby' decision re that blatant hand baw to add to the black ref list!! We really should've been 'home n dry' weeks ago and with at least double the pts lead that we have! Still, no damage done and the fixtures are starting to run out anyway as Falkirk and Morton are clearly scrambling to earn the second place in the Championship.

We will eventually stumble across the line.......with very little style and performance. I know getting over the line is the most important thing and it will be interesting to see if we can raise our game against much better opposition in the cup semi.........if not, playing as we are, it could be a very long 90 minutes. Doh

Maddens a cheating bastard, let there be no doubt about it. Todays handball from morton was way more a pk than the one the pars got the other week. Id need to see it again but i thought mcgregor might have got a touch of the ball first the day too. That aside look at the rescinded cards we have had, look at the amount of pks we have had, look at the calls against us this season. It just stinks.

So did our 2nd half showing mind you. 1st half we dominated but again we couldn't get the 3 points, like dunfermline last week morton did not look like scoring unless they got a pk. I'm starting to think some of these players know they are on the way out in the summer, with lennon himself afterwards admitting he might have 'got it wrong' with the players he has brought in.

Now if morton don't beat st mirren on tuesday we can seal it with a win v QOTS. The smart money would be on the draw on both counts though.
