Darren McGregor - Let common sense prevail!
#1
Reading Darren's comments in EEN Sport I must say that common sense would surely prevail in a situation where a blatant 'cheat' of a football player has not even been 'slapped down to the deck' or thumped with a full set of knuckles! However, it's the SFA that Hibs are dealing with and, after watching some of the worst SFA ref antics down the months on the pitch, god knows what we're gonna get from the SFA ref panel!! Hopefully common sense will indeed prevail!

Morton striker Kudus Oyenuga has been told he will not face any further action from the Scottish FA over his part in the Easter Road mayhem.

Hibs head coach Neil Lennon accused the Ton marksman of feigning a head butt to get defender Darren McGregor sent off in injury-time during last Wednesday’s goal-less draw, and branded the incident an ‘act of cowardice’.

But SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan has reviewed footage of the coming together and deemed that there is not enough evidence to charge Oyenuga with a breach of disciplinary rule 201, causing a match official to make an incorrect decision by committing an act of
simulation.

Just found this on the news pages on web don't no how much truth in it but if true it ridiculous.

Not surprised if this is true, yet fyvie got done for the same at ibrox.... in fact he never even went down and got done for it and he got roundly condemned on here for it too. What the morton player did was way worse.

I believe the SFA have stepped up their attacks on the club since we stopped their favoured team in the scottish cup final, fucked them over with the disciplinary proceedings afterwards and then appointed a man who has exposed their cheating in the past as our manager. The officials have been tipped the wink as well and have openly, blatantly robbed us of points this season that would already have seen us promoted.

I hope I'm wrong but i expect the morton player to get away with it,darren to pick up a 2 game ban and lennon to get clobbered. Its a joke that i should even think of that as the result of the events of last wednesday but thats just how i feel about the authorities in scottish fitba.

Lenny and Duffy + both clubs cited by the SFA today! As for Darren Mac, I think we're covered for his absence if it he is unfairly suspended anyway. David Gray is ready for action and Paul Hanlon looks like he'll recover from injury during this week's rest period before Saturday. I'm just curious to see if McGlennan is really fool enough to 'pull' such a crass value judgement, particularly with an intrigued audience of fans, media reps and club officials who have observed the video evidence which is fairly clear that a 'light touch' on the head does not 'fell' a strapping big footie player!! I think the whole issue is relative to Lenny's accurate description of the entire event and the SFA not being seen to agree with it for 'obvious reasons'!!! Rolleyes They can't disagree that a Hibs player has been injured for weeks due to the unacceptable action of that Morton moron and most of the misdemeanours can be pointed towards Morton FC who, in reality, couldn't wear the fact they were not allowed to win that match at ER even though it was fairly clear that a lotta their players and manager were fairly 'wound up' from the 1st min of the game!

So the morton player who caused the whole thing walks away without further sanction according to the scotsman/daily record.

The words 'impartial', 'common sense' and 'practical awareness' have been mentioned often enough on this board but sadly lacking when it comes to SFA officialdom down the months!!! Maybe they will surprise us in this case! They did it before in two of big Marv's appeals against silly red card decisions - both rescinded! So one lives in hope.

If the farce described by hfcbounce turns out to be true, then I think Hibs should make an official complaint against McGlennon, citing obvious bias against both Hibs and disciplinary justice, as well as total incompetence and dereliction of duty. If the cheating Morton player does not receive a retrospective card for his part, it can only be because he fell over a blade of grass! It certainly wasn't because of Darren McGregor.  Angry
