Agreed about Darren Mac......always solid and a great pinch from sevco.
2 important goals from Commons did secure 2 wins at an important time to stretch the lead over Dundee United so will always be grateful to him.

I wasn't sure about McGregor but boy has he really proved me wrong. Its another indicator of how xxxx clueless the management teams at the sevcodome have been since they reformed letting him go when you see the pish they have at the back now. He's an excellent defender and the manager clearly admires him a lot going by that interview last week, happy for him to get the award.
That said I think commons contribution in that loan spell could well be crucial for us,2 absolutely priceless goals v Falkirk and Dumbarton. He was kind of the missing piece of the puzzle for us - the goalscoring midfielder with a bit of "savvy".

You're 'spot on' with that last line Jim. The missing link - a midfielder who drives 'through the hole' in front of an opposition back line and knows where the goal is. That's been one of my biggest bugbears since the days when observing the likes of the 'pitbull' occasionally doing exactly that and then turning back to look for a convenient pass to another team mate because that skill was not within his capabilities! Other Hibs mid players like Scotty Allan showed 'flashes' of that kinda skill but it wasn't a natural skill to do it and do it like clock work.

Aye! I concur with that view and echo the disappointment re Commons not taking up Hibs offer to take him back to ER for the rest of the season. Listening to Lenny today on Radio Forth and he's not too fussed re that failure and emphasising the fact it was only one player who he hoped to add to his 1st team squad anyway.

Just looking through the names of players mentioned for POTM sadly IMO one player never seems to be talked about for me Big Marvin Bartley is a rock solid player for us every time he pulls on a strip.
When you listen to him getting interviewed on the Cup Final CD he loves our club just a Truly Honest & Hard working Proffesional
