Scottish Cup 3rd round: Bonnyrigg Rose v Hibs, Sat 21 Jan
#1
Well this is our first defence of the Scottish Cup and there should be a good atmosphere at Tynecastle with a sell out crowd in attendance. To anyone with a ticket, note the game is definitely being played on Saturday and not on Sunday 22 Jan as printed on your ticket!

I think Lenny will rest certain players and he'll opt for a refreshed side that he perceives will deal with any Rose challenge. I reckon Rocky will return to the side, Scott Martin will take up a mid role and possibly John McGinn may start as well as Fraser Fyvie. Boyly will likely start as well to utilise his pace and energy and Keatings may also feature. I'll predict a comprehensive 0-4 or 0-5 Hibs win.

If he is serious about defending the Cup he should take no chances. Obviously take 3 key players off once the tie is fully under control but start with the strongest squad.

True this should be a stroll but the history of football is littered with games which haven't gone anywhere near a form book or bears any relation to leagues that teams play in.

You only have to watch the games last night in the FA Cup where 2 non league teams won .....and deservedly so.  I agree there is a bigger gulf in divisions in Saturdays game and it should be Hibs by 4 or 5 goals but Hibs need to be up for it from the first kick and stamp their authority on the game with early goals.

Their ( Bonnyrigg) team talk?..........park the bus , keep it 0:0 as long as possible and look for a set piece later on. This is the same as most teams that play us in the Championship so we should be used to the tactics and have the ability to create chances and hopefully put a few away.

'mon Hibs, have it done and dusted by halftime.

Id leave key players on the bench just in case but we should be winning this with whatever side we put out if we approach this properly.

Id start big holt for this one, this kind of game should be right up his street!

5-1 Hibs- easy

Naw. We'll go 0-2 down before we rescue a draw. That's the secret at Tynecastle.  Tongue

We're definitely in a no-win situation - anything less than a 3 goal win for us and it's "you were rubbish"; anything more and it's "you were nothing special, that's what was expected".

First and foremost, I'll take a place in the 4th round draw ritchie. It'll be a bonus if we win it with aplomb but it would be good for the big Hibs support to savour! Thumb up I'll predict Humphrey to provide a very productive performance in this match! C'mon the Hibs!

3-1 at half time for hibs. Rose keeper has had a 'mare.

Seven for hibs now at tynecastle....not like we haven't done that before!

Good professional performance by Hibs to beat Bonnyrigg by 8:1.

Banana skin avoided.
