THE MATCH - SATURDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER 2016 at 3PM BST

This week sees the visit of one of the three promoted teams from the Pub League.  Wigan were not long ago an established Prem team, fighting well above their weight.  Relegation occured and then so did another but they seem to have stabilized and are now back in the Championship.  In all fairness to them they are not favored to challenge for the playoffs this season, this seems to be one of consolidation and keep the upward movement intact.

This is a home game that we should be winning.  Hillsborough was a bit of a fortress for us last season and this is the sort of game we would expect to win to maintain that aura around S6.  But our start as regards results have been very mixed, and this becomes a game we really need to win to get the train back on the tracks towards the Prem.  Our performances have been up and down, but we put in a good one last game and need to carry that into this game as well.

This will only be our 7th match against them having won 3 and lost 3 of the previous 6!!  We have won 2 of our 3 home games though so now its time for us to pull ahead in this "rivalry"!!  Our last home game was in Nov 2014 and saw us win 2-1 with Stevie May grabbing about 30% of his total goals for us in this match!! Doh Here is the video of that win:

THE LAST MATCH

Better is probably the best word to use.  We didn't get the result we probably should have done, particularly after a dominating first half, but that has been the story of our season so far - not taking the chances when they come along to get in front!!!  It took a 95th minute header from Hutch to get the point, a header that we may look back on as the moment our luck changed this season with regards to goals!!  Lets hope so!!

WHO'S IN AND WHO'S OUT

Transfer window has come and gone.  We have 8 new signings, but which ones will appear in the starting 11??  Adam Reach should come straight in for me but who else will play in midfield??  Will he go 2 up front, or 2 with FF just behind or with Abdi supporting a front 2 with FF up top??  Certainly the qulaity of the squad on paper is better than this time last season, so a few selection headaches for CC now to have each game, which can only be good as long as he picks the right 11!!  I want to see no more square pegs in round holes now we have cover across the team. Here is my team:

Westwood

Palmer  Lees  Hutchinson  Pudil

Lee  Abdi  Bannan  Reach

Forestieri

Fletcher

What team would you like to see??

Nice one SCO!

With it being so quiet on here the last few days I almost had an early night and missed this, a few sneaks snuck in before me Laugh

To be honest I've never seen Wigan as EPL side despite their time in the EPL. One of those teams like Blackpool that came from nowhere and is heading back there Laugh I still think they'll be fine this season though, I don't expect them to be in the bottom 3 at all.

If Pudil isn't up to scratch we may see him being subbed for the new man Emanuelson. Though I'd expect to see him more on the wing. We owe someone a thrashing, but this isn't going to be it.

2-1 Fletcher
