Scottish League Cup: Hibs v The Doonhamers, Tues 9 August, KO 7.45pm

It will be interesting to see how Neil Lennon approaches this cup tie v a QOS side that apparently should've beaten Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday. I reckon he'll field a few fringe players on Tues night and give them a chance to impress. I hope we win through to the quarter finals but won't lose any sleep if there is a shock away win. However, a quarter final tie potentially provides 'money in the bag' and a Hibs win keeps us 'ticking over' nicely.

I agree 0762 I think he will maybe put forster in to give him game time maybe the young left back in for stevo again just for game time but think he will be looking to win the game don't see him being happy to lose any games at Easter Rd.

Aye! It's a case of keeping that fine balance between still fielding a strong enough Hibs side that will beat QOS and not weakening the team too much while resting certain players at such an early stage of the season.

Agreed rotate the squad it keeps everyone happy with players getting game time but still being able to field a strong team

Be very interesting to see how lennon tackles this one,i've a feeling this early in proceeding he might at least start with our best 11 and take it from there.

I got the vibe from his post match interview on saturday that he thought we could have been a lot sharper at times especially first half so would make sense to give the guys more game time.

Ach, it's just the Wee Cup anyway.  Wink  No surprise to see we've still got the same problem as last year - Holt and Fontaine missed sitters when we were still 1-0 up.

Promotion is the only thing we should be interested in this season.

You could add that same sentence to our match thread tonight after we went out away to Cambridge!! Downside is we ended up playing ET, didn't need that and the loss!!
