In today's EEN the Falkirk manager finally conceding, after Falkirk's surprise home defeat to Livy, that it's in Hibs' hands to ensure they pick up the runners up spot but I think there's an element of gamesmanship being applied by Houston who still has 'points in the bag'. Our next match is @ New Saint Mirren Pk and I hope to see one of Stubbsy's strongest line ups for quite a while and I expect this strengthened side to absolutely 'go for the jugular' and impose itself on a positive run of form again. Our biggest concern is a logjam of fixtures and that factor will nourish some hope for Falkirk/Houston. If we win our Scottish Cup semi-final v Dundee United, that will add to our logjam of fixtures when the playoff period begins after the cup final. No doubt, interesting times ahead and it certainly has not been a boring season from a Hibs point of view.

Yes he is trying to play mind games!! Your season now hangs on an 8 day stretch between 12th and 20th April when you have the three most crucial games this season. Personally I know you fans want to see a cup final but promotion has to be the priority, Stubbs needs to play your strongest 11 in the next 4 league games, give the reserves a run out in the cup semi and then play the best 11 for the final 4 games!! Those two home games against Falkirk and Rangers either side of the semi are in the grand scheme of things far more important than the Dundee Utd game!!

Stubbsy would never attempt to play a Hibs reserve side in the SC semi-final SCO, the reason being that Hibs fans would not tolerate that kinda move because this trophy is regarded as The Holy Grail and it's a crusade with a chance to win it! That's the way it is and the fans will turn out in numbers to support a strong Hibs team trying to win it.

I know he won't do it, but he should!!! Doesn't have to be 11 changes, but he needs to rotate the squad to achieve the ultimate goal, which has to be promotion!!

I reckon we are back to 'square one' and now have every 1st team squad player available for action. IMO our strongest 1st team is well capable of beating any side in Scotland on a good day. Stubbs can indeed rotate players when he chooses to do so but he must choose wisely. I also pray that Lady Luck favours Hibs on the injury front until season end. It's high time that wee bit of good fortune changed in our favour!

Busy period coming up,but after that break we should be fresh and raring to go - stubbs needs to make some tough calls.
Start with our best 11 and take it from there.

I agree, jim. A Scottish Cup win would be wonderful, but would still only be a nice wee bonus. Promotion is and always has been our priority. Stubbs should be playing his best 11 in each game, taking form and freshness into account.
Now, promotion and a Scottish Cup win! That would be hitting the jackpot. You've got to be in it to win it - and we're still in it.
