I'm sure there was also a couple of occasions during our Euro campaign where Rhodes was picked for the Scotland squad but he had to pull out due to some kinda injury. IMO that never helps any player's cause for selection as other strikers can take advantage and try to impress the manager! Agreed re Strachan's popularity in the dressing room (and amongst a majority of TA fans!) hibeejim. So he must be doing something right!
