Were to go from here?

Hi all,

Been a while since i posted last but obviously been viewing all the time.
I previously mentioned we live in Scotland and with work can not come to games. But, we were at the Astle Day game (with the daughter) and how dissapointed we were.
Hence the statement i made at the time about me not really being worthy enough to comment on alot of subjects because i feel if i am not actually seeing things with my own eyes then you cant criticise.

WELL, I get enough stick up here being ENGLISH and they will use any excuse to have a knock.

So, you must be able to understand how embarrasing it is to be a Baggie up here!

I thought the appointment of TP at the time was the best move (not neccessaraly the correct one) and he would keep us up.
Even up here people talk about how WBA were a pleasure to watch with flowing attacking football.
Yes that's all good and well and brilliant for the fans BUT sometine if you arent good enough to do it you have to change styles.
I can understand that perhaps we dont have the players to do this all of the time and again styles, formations and players have to be changed for different games and even during games.
But you still need to put the ball in the net to score. Perhaps that is made easier by having a shot actually on target. Perhaps even easier if we give the strikers a chance with a ball.

We brought in Poco, Gamboa and Rondon (i have left out the others that have now left us). the first 2 had good world cups, we all know that because they were on the tv. Now we slag them off at every chance. Perhaps to get consistant you actually need to play more than once in six months. Rondon in dont understand, his confidence must be on minus figures by now, but how can he score without the ball, when he does get it, is he panicing because of confidence loss or surrounded in defenders - like i mentioned above, i could be wrong and i appologise because i'm not seeing him with my own eyes.

What about the players TP brought in? Were they his signings? Were they through his agent? All that sounds a bit (lot) iffy don’t you think? Why doesn’t he play half of them?

Sometimes we see other clubs/fans moaning about their manager but I think the players are as bad.
After all it the players on the pitch not the manager – yes, I know it’s the manager that picks the players and the styles etc., but come on, some players are their own worst enemies (and ours).

Anyways enough rambling on about things I can’t see (lol).

Bottom line, it looks like TP has lost the plot or at very least his play book. We let in goals and can’t score at the other end. His team selection even 300 miles away is mind blowing and surely the ball needs a passport to get to a striker from our midfield! JP needs to do something. Don’t know when, but changes are needed. Is it too late in the season to change now? Bring Pearson in till end of the season? I don’t know the answers and perhaps JP don’t? Sure as hell TP doesn’t.

Ok sorry if I have offended anyone with my thoughts but I just can’t believe what’s happening!

Spencer,
Can't see how your comments would offend anyone mate as most of what you say is 100% bang on !
Thumb up
I guess the only thing I feel is that TP is about the best manager to have in charge when in a relegation battle so from a personal point I would keep him and think we will stop up.
Next season is a completely different matter though. With a big team re build due and no obvious signs of improvement (if anything we are currently worse !) I think JP really needs to consider sacking TP at the end of the season.
Keep the faith buddy and if everything else fails point out who Mozza and Fletch play their international football for.

You could always remind them that Scotland is a one team country ........

There is something fundamentally wrong currently at our club ......... We have a recruitment / scouting problem. We seem to have lost our ability to sign raw talent and to polish it into diamonds, our young hopefuls get shifted out, we have no width, no pace, no flair, no creativity. And before anyone things I blame TP, I don't, this problem has been going on for a number of years, we have changed managers more often than enough, no stability, the problems persist ......

Where do we go from here, damned if I know, I wish I did, I would be sat in an office in B71 as happy as a pig in the brown stuff, glancing out the window on my beloved baggies, earning a fortune. No one said its easy being a manager / chairman of a football club. Let's hope some one somewhere comes in with the answers and villa get relegated.

I sat in a pub on the habour in Eyemouth last night in a pool competition and watched the game along with everyone.
Even the locals were saying you couldn't tell the 2 sides apart and which one were the EPL side.

Is it the players? Are they not good enough? I think on paper we have a good strong team.
So, if the players ARE good enough, why are we not playing well? Is it because they are played out of position, is TP style not suitable to the players or are the players just, so cheesed off with whats going on that they are drained of passion or just cant be bothered? Could be a little bit of all those factors.

So that leaves 2 other factors TP & JP.
Is TP really that bad? His style of play at Stoke was classic TP but, Stoke had better success at it than we are doing. it might have been boring but they are a better / more established EPL side than we are - they are certainly mid table year on. His style at Palace was nice to watch, some say it wasnt his team but even with that he managed to get them playing nicely.

JP, possible from a stability, money / structure is the best man for the job. But soooooo frustraiting. Are the papers and media correct and there is friction between JP and TP? In the past if that were true TP would of been out months ago.

So, on paper we have a GOOD team, we have a manager that has a reputation of playing boring styles (except Palace) but stats show to be very STABLE and finally we have a chairman who is regarded to be one of the best with money (some would say a tight wad) and has made the club financially STABLE (i which he could look after my £20).

That leaves us with 1 GOOD & 2 STABLES - we must be living the dream of the EPL then.

The whole Pulis at Palace thing is a huge red herring. Pulis was very lucky having a group of balanced pacey, skilful players that he moulded together.

Pulis is like a disease that, like at Stoke, has spread through our entire beloved club from top to bottom - from JP down to Elsie Rambottom the tea lady including the fans and until Pulisitus is expunged from our club, the healing process will not start.

If anyone still believes Pulis is the right man for the job, God help them as they must be raving bonkers !
