THE MATCH - TUESDAY 2ND FEBRUARY 2016 7.45PM KO

Well this game was postponed due to us screwing our chance to meet Man Utd in the 5th round of the cup.

Burnley only a few weeks ago looked like they were dropping like a stone down the table but have turned it around in big style and are winning and scoring for fun over the past few games.  Our starting 11 was given the weekend off to prepare for this one so now that we made a mess of that tactic on the first front, we need to make sure we get a result here to at least appear to justify that decision!!!

Burnley beat Charlton 4-0 in December which ended a run of 6 games without a win and despite losing at Hull have since stomped on most of the teams they have played in the league since!! P5, W4 D1 L0, F15 A2, is a record that has seen them climb back into third place and boosted their GD in the process.  I think its fair to say that while this game will not define our season, it will no doubt be one of the toughest we have had.

We have played 101 games against Burnley and have W39, D19, L43, so honours are pretty even.  Since 2000 we have a record of W7,  D6, L7, so again very even.  But if you look at our last 10 games at S6 it presents a very different story - P10, W3, D2, L5, so we have a bit of a dodgy record at home recently!!  Earlier this season we went to their place and lost quite easily in a disappointing display.  Of course that result also spurred us on to our long unbeaten run as well so it wasn't all bad!!   Here is the video:

CURRENT FORM
SWFC -  Confused Big Grin Big Grin Angry Big Grin Big Grin
Burnley -  Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Confused Angry Big Grin

LINKS BETWEEN THE CLUBS

Ross Wallace is the newest ling between the clubs but before him Chris Eagles, JOC, Lee Briscoe and Marlon Beresford all played for both teams.

From a management perspective Brian Laws and Alan Brown managed both teams and Jimmy Mullen and Chris Waddle played for us and managed them!!!

THE LAST MATCH

Not the best performance against Reading, although we did end up picking up an away point which may be crucial come the end of the season.

OUR TEAM

I suppose after the first part of the plan backfired at Shrewsbury, CC will be picking our best 11 and they will be expected to get the job done.

Westwood
Hunt Loovens Sasso Pudil
Hutchinson
Wallace Lee Bannan Forestieri
Hooper

What do you think will be the starting 11??

The Bastard in Black is Andy Woolmer from Northampton. This season he has issued 73 yellow cards & 2 red cards from 24 matches. Our record with this clown is:

Oct 15 - OWLS 3-1 Preston - 1Y
Mar 15 - OWLS 1-1 Fulham - 3Y
Nov 12 - Nottm F 1-0 OWLS - 1Y
Aug 10 - OWLS 1-0 Brighton - 6Y
Mar 09 - Watford 2-2 OWLS - 4Y
Sep 08 - Reading 6-0 OWLS - 1Y
Jan 08 - Cardiff 1-0 OWLS - 2Y

P7 W2 D2 L3

So overall not great for us.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

P3 W2 D1 L0 at home though, so maybe a bit of a homer when it comes to decisions.
