(Apologies - I know there MUST be an existing thread about SB but I couldn't find it)

Will he go, or stay for the rest of the season?

I think it's beyond question that we need him at the moment; even a half fit, semi motivated SB carries more goal threat than the remainder of our squad.
IMO, if TP can get him going (and, bloody eck, I HATE all this softly softly crap around egotistical players too, but it seems like it's the way these days) for the rest of this season, get a few goals outa him and keep his price up for the summer then that seems to be best for all ??

He certainly does have an eye for goal as the last 2 cup rounds have reminded us - just such a shame he's wasted most of this season so far, as TP suggested  Sick

Have to agree with that Drewks. I did think that Saido would be leaving at the start of the month but we definitely need him in amongst the squad at the minute.

I'd imagine JP is banking on receiving decent compo for Saido in the summer for Spurs tapping him up/turning his head via the media etc. Similar to Ings moving to Liverpool really, not sure what the final fee the compensation committee decided on for that, though.

Surely its Spurs Saido should have the hump with cause if they really thought that highly of him they`d just pay the amount
we want and have done with it, another reason he shoudnt be blaming Peace is because the offer they made in the summer
was left way to late which meant we didn't have time to strengthen and the amount offered was all in staged payments.

I think if one thing was proven yesterday it's that we simply cannot afford to sell Berahino; he's our most gifted goal scorer by some distance. Yes, he can be a bit of a tit at times but I think the club is also at fault there and besides, Spurs I can understand but Newcastle? That's taking a step back!

It's always been a no-win situation. We don't want to lose the goals he provides, but if we don't sell now then in the near future we'll end up losing his goals anyway and getting nothing in return to add insult to injury. Same thing that happened with Shane Long, but worse, because Berahino has twice the talent and greater value as a homegrown player.

Best possible outcome would be milking tens of millions from a bidding war and unearthing a 15-goal-a-season replacement who actually has some sense in their head. Sadly, given our recent track record, that's also a pretty unlikely outcome. Hope springs eternal though.
