Don't give it up Hibs - push on Stubbsy!!

We've experienced a slight setback today at Ibrox but, as Hibs fans, we all know the most important thing is how our team reacts in the coming weeks/fixtures!! We must apply immediate pressure to a team that is only 3 pts ahead of us, compliments of winning their home game against Hibs at this stage of the season. By all accounts, Hibs dressing room spirit is the best that has been observed for a long time and the boys are buoyant re the forthcoming campaign into a testy winter season. No time for feeling sorry for themselves - the unbeaten run is over and the trick is to move on into another rich vein of form and show the qualities of a decent side that Hibs are! One bad result does not change anything and I hope Alan Stubbs and Hibs coaching staff immediately mobilise their resources and keep close on Rangers tail. I don't believe they are as good as being portrayed and as the old saying goes, 'One swallow does not make a summer', the same applies to this Rangers win when a few different factors turned the game against us today. DON'T GIVE IT UP STUBBSY!! DON'T GIVE IT UP HIBS! Thumb up Thumb up

This time during the next few games will show if we have a different mentality at the club. In the past we would have capitulated after yesterdays result leading to our poor form after xmas. Against Raith on Saturday I am hoping to see a positive reaction and see Hibs get back to winning ways with a certain amount of style that has been missing of late. The real crunch game looming is the tie at Falkirk and so I think the next 4 weeks will dictate our season and we will see what this team is made of......SFA Cup tie, wee cup semi and the game against the Bairns.

When teams I have followed have come up against a top side which has lost the week before I used to dread a backlash and we would get a good humping.........hopefully we will do that to Raith this Saturday.   Smile

'mon Hibs    Thumb up

I think a number of the players let the manager down big style yesterday, - time to make amends straight away v raith.

I notice stubbsy is getting it tight in the media re his bullishness about our chances, the huns in the media did not like it one bit and are dishing it out today. They are quite happy to let warbiola spout laughable nonsense about rangers being a champions league club etc though.

Expect plenty more of that in the 2nd half of the season, and we have to be prepared on and off the park.

Festive distractions possibly a big contributor hibeejim? That was one of my biggest concerns that covered some of the 11 players who Stubbs fielded at the start of this game where we had to be 100% focused and disciplined in front of a hostile and demanding Ibrox crowd! I watched/read the ridiculous spin and the anti Stubbs campaign that was deliberately generated by this Rankers media preceding this match by about 7 days. We saw the same stuff conjured up last season against Hearts by the same shady antagonists trying to stir it up until they finally realised they were done and had to fight for a play-off place! The same applies to the pre-season Scott Alan shenanigans that were cynically orchestrated by a bunch of real c####ts who have no idea what the words sporting integrity actually mean in the true spirit of the game. I fervently hope we bring them down in the final course of this football season because that is what they deserve - their behaviour in the stands and within their own organisation has been utterly crass TBF - a shameless football club that lost all remaining respectability/credibility many years ago and that's the crux of it eh!!

I'm unsure mate, just feel its a young team and always liable to choke in games like that....i'm not worried about stubbs in particular as he is hard as nails under that placid surface.

They should have been home and hosed like hertz last season, but they are far from it.

I personally thought Stubbs made a calculated error by fielding Macgregor instead of Fontaine but I can see why he opted for Darren (because of lotsa previous Ibrox experience). I still rate Fontaine who strolls through most matches and certainly generally plays well in Rangers matches. Brought on cold in the second half and the fundamental error in not clearing his lines was unusual - an old coaching line from me in the past is, 'if in doubt, kick it out son' and Fontaine violated that code of conduct! Re our involvement in the cup tourneys, I have previously said I'd sacrifice our league cup involvement for a massive assault to win the Championship and get out of this shit league - no interest in the league cup apart from the money coming in from a final appearance. The Scottish Cup is different but a cup run is still an unnecessary distraction that would likely destroy our ambitions to win the Championship outright.

You lot don't half rattle out some pish.

Stubbs trying to manipulate media in run up to game and falls flat on his face - dragging you fools with him. Talking done on the park by Rangers - if only the Hibs team Stubbs had been talking about had actually been on the pitch it might have been a closer contest.

Aye Jim, this time last year Hearts had 50 points and sevco in second had 35.........they think its all over.......and it was.  ( and they didn't even come second  Tongue )

This year sevco are only 3 points clear from both Falkirk and Hibs.......IT AIN'T OVER YET   Wink

'mon Hibs ( and Bairns to finish second    Big Grin  )
