The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16
You're right Steve. Pearson would come top of my favourites list but he isn't our best ever CB.

Hirst wins the vote on both counts though!

I don't like to compare players from different teams/eras as some can seem better than they really were and some can seem worse because the related team did well or badly. Always liked Walker but Lyons was the first captain I looked up to as a 'youth' and Pearson was an excellent leader by example in a great period for the club (although he did get relegated with us as well, I do try and forget that season though). Do we think Loovens and Lees will be looked on fondly in the future, especially if we do get promoted this season, or next?
You know nothing, Jacko

Loovens no hes not got enough time left to win anything ? promotion wont count if you look back again to all the players that have been mentioned !! lees has time to win something other than promotion so possible yes !! and he could move up a gear higher aswell loovens is only getting worse !

Id go with Lyons or Pearson at CB but best defender I have seen is Roland Nilsson.
Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.

This could derail our top 6 finish.

Colin could lead Rotherham to the promised land leaving collateral damage in his wake!!! We might become one of the casualties. Whistle Whistle

Agreed, we all have favourites. And to compare players form different era's is difficult and a tad unfair.

I always liked Walker myself but generally because he was of my generation. He wasn't great but he was good. He'd come to us in order to get his career back on track. he had a right mare at Sampdoria. so much so I think I remember Sven moved him from CB to LB

He might have even played LB for us a few times If I remember correctly. I actually rated Nillsson as better but Liked Walker more.

Matias scored and came through last nights Development game unscathed

Good to see Matias get a game, I still think he can play a role for us this season. Interesting that Lee played as well.

,hhMy perxsonal opinion is that lopez and matiass arent good enough when you see how much better lee hutch and bannan are !! squad players yes but lopez isnt worth keeping on not in this league and deffinatley not in the prem !!

5,500 going to preston ... Home game then !!

And Derby is pure madness ??? they sacked the coach because he wants promotion ffs ?
