Joey Barton anyone (again)

I know it's been discussed before BUT he is available on a free and having just read an article in The Birmingham Mail I think he should be considered.

I have always liked him as a footballer although his temperament leaves a lot to be desired, but he's now 32 and matured somewhat.

Before you shoot me down read have a read of the article and look at his stats compared to Yacob, Gardner & Fletcher.

Not for me, I think we should be aiming higher and better now, the Signing of Rondon shows ambition, Barton would be like a signing of old days.

I appreciate he's free, but that doesn't make him desirable!

Not to mention the agro he can cause in a dressing room!

The Birmingham Mail post does put forward a good argument for having him. But it glossed over the pieces where they mentioned the falling out with fellow players and having only slightly a better fouls per minute ratio than Jacob.

It is inevitable that he would get carried away and get sent off and would split the dressing room. I see no point in adding him, free or not, unless TP clearly believes he can tame the man.

Maybe a pay per match model would work, we can then dump him the minute it goes all pete tong.

Agree with Bournemouth - would rather stick wasps up his arse.
Barton is a thug and would be a completely negative presence. Was actually a decent player but has always spoiled it with his stupid, vindictive attitude.

That's a "NO " from me Sick
