As poor as we usually are in this competition, it seems that Walsall's heroic last-minute win at Forest has guaranteed all five West Midlands clubs a place in the Second Round, so there's chance of a local derby to kick off (and possibly end) our campaign.  The draw is on Thursday.

Preferences?  Something local to whip up interest and support, or a straightforward tie to up our chances of progressing?

Personally, an away day to somewhere really obscure I would enjoy. A Fleetwood or burton albion or something away.

I think we could do with a straightforward one tho. Another Gateshead esque team, so we can get the strikers gelling and players on the fringes (sess, brown, gardener Mcmanaman McLean etc) valuable playing time

Well, this is unusual. The powers-that-be have decided that this year's draw is going to be seeded, which guarantees us a draw against a lower league side, and rules out any derby game except Walsall. Here's the list of seeds and non-seeds; draw's around 10 tonight.

No likee. Interfering with the format to help the big boys again. Takes the element of chance out of the competition. DD Thumb down Thumb down

Wasn't it seeded last year?

Ether way we should beat any of those teams comfortably. Imagine Rondon against Barnet...

Does anyone remember the night in Sep/Oct 1966 when, as holders, Albion beat Manchester City 4-2 at The Hawthorns? Great days.

If it was, then they must have done it on the quiet.  This is definitely the first time they've openly declared that the draw is seeded.
