He was way before my time and I reckon most (if not all) of our times, but he will be remembered on Friday.

Ah Yes... Sammy!!. my dear old, and long passed away friend Andy used to rave about Sammy Cox. He was one of his favorite players and supposedly much better than his reputation, and a large part of Gers success in those days. Think he was a right back but could be mistaken. Seems to have lived to a ripe old age , so rip Sammy; Rangers legend you certainly were, and still are.

He was a midfielder Struth, apparently a fantastic passer of the ball.

Have to admit I don't know much about Sammy, his time was way before mine. Seems by all accounts to be a good guy and a fine footballer for Rangers.

Time for me to acquaint myself with his story.
