Thought some of the reaction to Ian Black turning out for Berwick Rangers was a bit over the top.

Aye, he never hit the heights while at Rangers - certainly never showed much of what he had for other teams in previous seasons, but there is no doubt that he is still well above the level of Berwick Rangers. Looks like a decent opportunity for him to keep himself fit and I'm fairly certain that he'll sign for a team in one of the top two tears by the time the window closes.

I also note that Bilel "SugarRay" Mohsni has apparently been offered a 6k a week deal in his home country. Best of luck to him. He was a bit of a bomb scare at times, but there was also something about him that was pretty good - he scored a few half decent goals.

Best of luck to him.

I said from the first rumours that I didn't want him at Rangers - even in the summer of 2012 I felt we had players who could do the same job as him but better. Turns out I was wrong and no one was able to do absolutely nothing for 90 minutes quite as well as Black.

However, now that he's off the books I have no problem with him. In fact I wish every success (apart from against us) to all the players who left this summer no matter where they end up. I'd like to think at least a few of them will be able to prove they were better than they showed at Rangers.

Could be down to the fact that super Ally couldn't manage a fish supper on a Friday, never mind manage a football team. Ruined a good few players careers did Mcoist.

Black didn't regress at Rangers though. He was rubbish from the first kick (I suspect it was a man rather than the ball) and apart from a period of 3 months or so in 2013 he maintained a level of rubbishness. You can blame the manager for a lot of things but a player of Black's age and experience doesn't need his hand held to be able to get the simple things right in a game of football. His failings were all his own.
