Preston it is

Preston missed out on Automatic promotion after losing to Colchester 1-0. Preston have been in the playoffs 9 times and lost 9 times. Preston not getting 2nd will have knocked their confidence so lets hope we take opportunity of it.

I know Preston have 0% success in the play-offs but they were the last team I wanted us to play. We seem to be about the only team who can handle MKD, whose football has deserved promotion (as has their sporting attitude towards us in the cup). Swindon have proved they can beat us convincingly, but they seem to be on a downer. Sheff Utd are under a lot of pressure when they play us, because they are supposed to hammer us and can't. But Preston ...... Garner and Beckford with Robinson and Davies as back-up ...... I think our centre backs will struggle. Gallagher to add to that is pretty potent. I'd be tempted to play three centre backs and push our wing backs well forward to join the midfield. They'd cause Preston problems, 'cause they won't like Roberts and O'Shea joining them.

But whatever happens on Thursday isn't it brilliant? Superbly done!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest playoffs aren't exactly fair looking at it. Preston are 20 pts in front of us and we could deny them promotion but whatever will be will be, it's been a successful season for us no matter what happens.

Whatever has happened in the past is irrelevant.Having said that I reckon we are better now than at any stage of the season so am hopeful.

Depends on Grayson's motivation powers between now and Thursday because believe me we are on the floor at the moment
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

The two players which you have which worry me are Garner and Johnson. Garner is lethal when he is allowed space and time on the ball and well we all know how good Daniel Johnson is when he gets the ball he's the playmaker who creates the chances and is also lethal with his shots from range.

If Grayson can't break Preston's Play Off hoodoo, then nobody can.

Who would I, as a Huddersfield supporter want in the Championship?

Anybody but Sheffield Utd or Swindon. So come on you two. Sort it out between you.

Good luck and may the best team win. And boy, am I glad we don't have to go through this nerve jangling, heart pumping, adrenalin rushing nonsense anymore.  Tongue

I agree with you there Snooty, really hoping the winner of the playoffs comes from this tie!!!

Both teams have been in good form, but the fact that Chesterfields form got them into the playoffs and Prestons had them backing into them could be the difference!!! Grayson has some work to do this week with the minds of the players!!

Blimey you're all so positive for us. Like Matt deep down I feel Preston deserve it, but ...... this may be my only chance of seeing the Spires reach the Championship. I could live with Garner tweaking a hamstring, Johnson suffering a personal crisis, Gallagher having one of his anonymous days and even our glorious Kev collecting two yellows in five minutes. Swindon and the Blades kicking hell out of each other in two protracted 0-0 draws would be the icing on the cake.

Anyway Sheff Utd, what can anyone have against them? Except an Owl. They got 25,000 to watch them play us in a match that didn't much matter. Much as I like competing against either of them I feel both Sheffield clubs should be in the Premier ..... and that's not the Vanarama.

If Sheffield Utd come up, they will get stronger and probably overtake us.
If you come up, that's one of the relegation spots sorted. Wink
Which is what I said about Bournemouth and Brentford, by the way. Big Grin
