Foster out for 6 months
#1
Initial scan results show Ben Foster will be out of action for at least four weeks due to ligament damage.

At least part of this period will be eaten up by the international break.

Now confirmed on the official club site only difference is the "at least four weeks" sounds a bit more ominous and its cartilage damage.

Whow......cartlidge - we may be lucky if he's back at all this season.

Still, IMO Boaz is a very capable PL keeper who could hold his own in any team, so hopefully the effects of BF's absence will be minimal

Agreed Drewks but I am a bit worried at the prospect of a very young and inexperienced keeper on the bench.

Boaz you'd better keep fit mate!

It has happened at a time where the impact is slight. We are only mathematically in danger of relegation, not really a threat. Myhill is a very good keeper and I am sure will fill the void.

But, even if I were in goal and we lost all matches we would still be safe.

Dunno what's wrong with Ben but Boaz looked perfectly capable when he came on. (in fact he looked much better but don't tell Fozza)
I can go a step higher than Aston Villa

Damn good goalkeeper. Hope he recovers quicker than that!

Whow.
Now it's not a question of whether Boaz is good enough to cover, but rather what happens if HE is injured??

If this prognosis is accurate, my guess is that we'll use Jack Rose as our back-up for the remainder of this season (and obviously if Myhill gets nobbled in the next few weeks then you're right in at the deep end, sonny Jack) and sign someone on a rolling contract over summer to be our back-up early next season, as we did with Lee Camp a couple of years ago.
