Making amends for Friday!

No ambition.
After Maja’s goal we were just sitting back willing them to score. Griffiths by far the best player and at least Wallace showed some fight when he came on. Isaac was on holiday. Maja scored but did nothing else. Midfield were abysmal, no forward passes even though they had runners in the clear. Norwich looked there for the taking at the back.
Lucky lucky 3 points.

OK, Derby, but I'll settle for that!

Yeah, we absolutely have Griffiths to thank for at least two of those three points, but after our recent run you take the win however it comes. Hopefully we'll build on it with something a bit more assured come Saturday.

Always great to win on the road, but the second half was far too negative. Incredibly lucky to come away with the win.
I thought our game plan of "holding on" from the minute we scored was poor. We invited far too much pressure when we could've put the game to bed. I'm gobsmacked Norwich didn't equalise.
Far too many players who have the first thought of going backwards rather than forwards. It's really frustrating when there are forward passes on too.
Issac Price is never a number 10. Number 10s first thought is to create, his first thought is almost always to go backwards.
We almost conceded when we worked it back to Griffiths and he did a bad kick, that move started with Price on the edge of the Norwich box passing it back to the centre halves when he could've done anything with it.
There were a few positives though...
Griffiths obviously won us the game with a couple of great saves. I've been less than impressed generally, but hopefully he seems to be growing into the role.
Maja scoring on his return.
Heggebo looked excellent when we came on. Won every ball forward. Was by far our best passer. Sadly for him, he came on when nobody else had any intention of going forward.
Chuffed with the points but the jury is out on Mason's tactics for me. He was negative against Boro and negative tonight. I don't think we need to be hanging on against teams like Norwich.

IMO, this is the premier league way, sideways, backwards, sideways. Probing. Continental style. Not the fast attacking English football we grew up on. Mason has been coached into this style, look at England under Southgate, took the lead against Italy, sat back, cost us the euro finals, roll on two years, World Cup against Croatia, took the lead, sat back, cost us the semi final, last year the same in the euros. We do not have the players with the skills and know how to be able to do this properly and be able to hold on.
I would rather we pushed home our advantages when we have them, all our wins have been by a single goal, sometimes a good goal difference makes a big difference. We do not seem able to take our chances, our shots to goals ratio doesn’t appear that great.
But the important thing is it’s three points, the league will be very tight this year. Only three points between third and twelfth.
Come on you baggies.
