Prediction League Week 5 Results
#1
Group A

Minizin 17
BaggieOne 15
Stairs 12
BaggieVicar 10
B.B.B. 10
Zinman 7
Twerton 5
A.A.A. 0

Second best weekly score of the season with 5 players reaching double figures and every player picking up the Scoreball point. Four games reached double figures with Spurs win at West Ham and Wednesday's very predictable loss gaining the most points. WBA shock loss at home created the only negative score of the week.

The question is though, are we starting to see a pattern that is creating a bit of a breakaway at the top of the table? Minizin tops the table this week with 17 points, his highest score of the season, courtesy of 2 CSs and 4other scoring games including the Bonus. BaggieOne is 2nd with 15 points, he too got 2 CSs, and Stairs is 3rd with 12 points, he only got one CS but was one of only two players to score points on the Gamball. So the top 3 this week are the same as the top 3 last week and are the same group occupying the top 3 spots in the overall table - that is an ominous sign for the rest of the group at this early stage!!

Two more players ended in double figures - BaggieVicar and BBB with 10 points each - The Vicar got a spot on Bonus, while BBB continues to struggle on his but did get a CR on the Gamball. Zinman recorded his best score of the season with 7, Twerton ended with 5 and hasn't scored double figures since week 2 and AAA ended with a season's worst for him with zero points!!

76 BaggieOne
64 Stairs
59 Minizin
46 B.B.B.
42 Twerton
40 BaggieVicar
36 A.A.A.
20 Zinman

So as I said above, the top 3 are starting to move away from the rest. B1 is still top with a healthy 12 point lead over Stairs who is 5 points ahead of Minizin. BBB is 13 points back in 4th and then Twerton, BaggieVicar and AAA are all fairly close. Zinman is still stranded at the bottom but his form is slowly improving.

A couple of interesting stats -

Stairs has managed a CR on the Gamball in each of the first 5 weeks, whereas Twerton and Zinman have been wrong every week. 3 players have a max on the Gamball - BaggieVicar, BBB and Minizin.

The Bonus is having its usual poor season with 5 players failing to score positive points on it 5 weeks into the season!! BBB is the lowest scorer with -6 while BaggieOne sits top with 15 points so far.

Overall on the three Balls B1 leads with 24 points, followed by Minizin and Stairs on 20. At the opposite end Twerton and Zinman sit with a -6 total - a deficit of 30 points behind B1!!!

Cheers

Group B

Snooty 18
SCO 15
Salop 11
Amelia 7
Themaclad 5
4eva 5
Derby 4
Lady Jane 0

A decent week in total for Group B though it did produce the biggest gap from top to bottom so far. Only 1 game produced a negative score (you can all guess which one!) while Sheffield Wednesday's sad demise was all too predictable with that game yielding 17 points.

It helped if your user name started with 's' this week. Snooty heads the table, more than doubling his total points for the season. He got 6 correct results with 2 correct scores - one of them his bonus for the 2nd consecutive week. SCO's good start continued with a solid 15 points from 5 correct predictions (1 correct score) including both his gamball and bonus. Salop is our 3rd s and 3rd player to reach double figures, again with 5 correct results but no spot on scores.

Amelia sits in mid-table - 4 correct results, 1 correct score, but missing out on both the gamball and bonus. Themaclad was the second player to gain from the gamball but didn't get much else and sits level with 4eva with 5 points. 4eva only scored on 2 games but one of them was his bonus to lift him from the bottom. Derby is a point further back - 3 correct results, 1 correct score but a blow out on his balls.

And finally we have Lady Jane - just 2 correct scores but those were wiped out by her balls to leave her with zero points.

49 Themaclad
49 SCO
40 4eva
31 Snooty
29 Derby
26 Lady Jane
21 Salop
12 Amelia

With an 18 point spread, this week saw a number of changes in the overall league positions. SCO joins Themaclad at the top of the table, with 4eva dropping to 3rd. Snooty climbs 2 places to 4th swopping places with Lady Jane.

Some early season stats:

Snooty remains the only player yet to score on the gamball with SCO and 4eva leading the way with 3 out of 5 correct gamballs. Nobody is yet to score a maximum on that ball. Derby and Lady Jane are both yet to score anything (except minus points!) from their bonus balls with Snooty the most successful bonus player. This week was the first time that Themaclad missed out on the scoreball while SCO is yet to pick up anything from it.

Also worth noting that the scoring in Group A is easily outstripping the scoring in Group B - 383 points to 257!!! The joint leaders in Group B would be 4th and 5th in Group A, even Zinman would move off the bottom if the groups were combined (Although late starter Amelia will probably catch him next week.)!!
