THE LAST MATCH
Wrong team picked, wrong tactics played, wrong formation, wrong subs used!!!! How many times are we going to be saying this about a previous game???
By all accounts it was a pretty inept performance devoid of any real threat from anywhere on the field and littered with silly and avoidable mistakes that constantly put us on the back foot!! Again I could be describing a few games this season with these comments!!
For me SG takes sole and full blame for all of it, his stubborness and lack of a plan B is killing us this season! If he really wants to keep his job beyond this season he really has to make a complete turnaround not just in results but in the performances associated with them. I for one have no doubt he will not achieve this!!
THE MATCH - SAT 14TH FEB 2015 15.00 GMT
Last season Brighton sneaked into the play offs, losing to Derby, so to see them languishing in or around the relegation spots this season is one of the surprises for most of us. They started the season with Sami Hyypia (yes I had to look up how to spell his name!!
) but struggled from the start of the season, seeing him resigning just before Xmas. His quick replacement was Chris Hughton but so far it has seen only a marginal improvement in results with his record being P8 W3 D1 L4.
The will be only the 29th meeting between the two teams with a record for us of W13 D10 L5!! Our first loss to them was in 1977 in the old 3rd division!! Our home record against them is P14 W8 D6 L0, I cannot remember playing a team at home who had never beat us at S6!!! Of course we know this doesn't necessarily bode well for this game though!!! We started our season against them with a nice 1-0 win with Coke scoring a cracker to win the game.
CLASSIC MATCH
This is a perfect game to start a new feature on the match threads of classic games against the opposition we are facing. I started watching Wednesday in the mid 70s, not great times, but as we gradually rose through the ranks we started to hope that one day we might see Wednesday play in the top flight or play at Wembley. In 1982-83 season we had a great cup run culminating in the semi-final below match against the Seagulls at Highbury. Our cup run didn't start that well, needing three games to beat Southend in the 3rd round, followed by an away win at Torquay in the 4th, an away win at Cambridge in the 5th and a classic 5-0 home replay against Burnley to reach the semis!!
This was my first trip to Highbury and hopes were very high that we could pull this off and see us at Wembley, unfortunately a Jimmy Case wonder strike and Michael Robinson second half winner, either side of an Ante Mirocevic equaliser, saw us heartbroken and still waiting for that trip in May to Wembley. BHA went on to lose to Man Utd after a replay in the final.
POTENTIAL LIVE STREAMING SITES
Each game I will post the links to the websites anyone mentions on the thread. That way its easier to find the potential threads rather than scrolling through all the posts on the thread to find the ones where a link is posted. Lets see how ths works.
Cricfree Football - stole this one from Larry on the Rangers board.
http://pilkalive.weebly.com - this one was mentioned on the WBA forum.
http://fırstrowsports.eu - the old favorite that tends not to work as well as it used to!!
WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK
Ref - Scott Duncan

MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!
CURRENT FORM
OWLS -

BRIGHTON -

Their recent form is as bad as ours but it has seen them get out of the relegation spots, albeit on goal difference over Millwall.
OTHER GAMES OF MILD INTEREST
Bolton v Watford
Bournemouth v Huddersfield
Charlton v Brentford
Leeds v Millwall
Norwich v Wolves
Couple of games at the top and a couple including bottom teams to pick from!!
THE TEAM
Where do we start here??
SG always seems to surprise us with his team every game. Maguire is still suspended and Loovens will face a fitness test. Mattock should be dropped imo and Dielna should play at LB if Loovens is back. Midfield is where i am sure SG will still change things a bit but who know who he will pick!! Up front Bus needs to start, personally I would play him alongside Keane and leave May and Nuhiu on the bench. I have no doubt SG will go 442
so with that in mind I would go for:
Westwood
Vermijl Loovens Lees Dielna
Palmer Melo McGugan Helan
Bus Keane
THE BIG MANS LEAGUE
