Back when he became the first player ever to be given a contract by Warrington Rylands I have been an advocate of our making an offer for this player.

Now he is at Macclesfield. On Saturday he ended a seven-game goal drought for them. He's still young. He's skilful, quick, makes goals and scores regularly. He's a scouser who started out at Liverpool. He goes wide and comes inside. He'd be an addition.

Assuming we are EFL-bound he would make the grade and I think be keen to do it. We would have to pay something.

On the other hand if we wait till the end of the season other EFL interest might surface.

My suggestion would be to sign him now whilst he sees us at the crest of our wave and loan him back till the end of this season.

Matt has been keen on him too for some time too. Promotion shouldn't be the end of our story should it?

He's a very good player. I'm surprised he isn't playing for a football league side.

I'm surprised too that he's still at Macc. That's why I think we should move when the window closes for EFL teams. That way he could try and get Macc into play-offs and then do pre-season with us and be squad-ready for EFL2. He'll cost a bit but he's a better bet than some old EFL player ...... and Jacobs isn't getting younger ....

By the way I'm delighted to see Bailey Clements back and bringing his Eastleigh form with him.

Well, if he`s a scouser he should definitely feel at home; we`ve got plenty of `em round our place already.

My first thought was that we have plenty of cover for wide players already but as you say a few of them are coming towards the end of their prime and a youngster that we could develop even further wouldn`t go amiss. Providing the budget will wear it, of course.

My thought is that Macclesfield won't expect to be able to keep Drummond for next season. If he doesn't get taken in the window, because most EFL1 and 2 teams are looking for loans, we'll have an advantage in still being able to buy, which will disappear in summer. I'm assuming he's a scouser because he was at Liverpool and when they released him at 15 Robbie Fowler took an interest in him and I think it was through that that he ended up at Warrington Rylands, who thought a lot of him. Macclesfield I'm sure paid a fee to get him, so we would be looking at expenditure, but I'm pretty sure an EFL 1 or 2 club, if not some Championship club will grab him in the summer. He's brave, he likes to dribble and take players on. I sort of envision some poor defender heaving a sigh of relief when perhaps we take Dobra off after 65 minutes only to find we've brought on Drummond keen to prove he's Dobra 2.0. And 16 points clear, we're never going to look as attractive to Drummond himself again are we? At the moment we seem like another Wrexham or Stockport, candidates for more than one promotion. We are not going to get any more attractive than this surely?

When two different teams and two lots of fans think a lot of a player and someone like Robbie Fowler has taken an interest in him too, surely someone like Paul Cook ought to be interested?

He scored again on Saturday.

Now is the time to sign him! Open up the little blue purse and check how much we've got in there!
