Two points were the minimum ask from the last week, and two points were duly delivered in contrasting games; the first with a highly fortunate clean sheet, the second with some outstanding goals at each end but no winner to break the deadlock. And so the pressure is now on to keep the ball rolling as Millwall visit the Hawthorns on Saturday, just one point above Albion.

Recent history has "stalemate" written all over this fixture, with Albion winless against the Lions since February 2020 but Millwall winless in B71 since October 2001. After losing to Huddersfield at the beginning of the month, another defeat here would mean consecutive home losses for the first time under Corberan, and while that may not be the end of the world, it's also not a great prospect for a team that struggles on the road and has to travel to Preston next, so it's a milestone better avoided for the Spaniard. Chances of victory? Well, the charnel-house of broken strikers keeps claiming new inmates, but John Swift is on the best run of home goalscoring form of his career, netting five in the last eight at the Hawthorns including all three of those we've played this season. If he keeps it up and we shut Millwall out as we did Bristol City (however fortuitously), it's possible.

We probably do have to hunt for the win in the circumstances, with September shaping up to be an unrewarding month otherwise, but if history has the last laugh and delivers us less, it shouldn't be any kind of surprise.

Have to admit, I've often wondered what became of Harry the Dog in the end. Wherever he is now, I hope he gets access to some occasional daylight and plenty of electroshock treatment.

Still have faith in CC, but it feels like he is experimenting as if it was pre season, I would love to see players playing in what to me feels like their natural positions, i.e. Wallace and Furlong on the right wing, when they play together in those positions we look so dangerous, but they need to stay there. Diangana NEEDS to play on the left wing with Sarmiento playing in the old inside left (where ever that is in modern money) a bit like the Grady/Pereira positioning. Molumby with Okay or Mowett behind that and whoever is fit behind them. To me the opposition would not have a clue which side to protect and both wings would be able to supply BTA who would not have to keep coming to the halfway line to try and pick up the ball. Phillips who is a great service of the club, but I have never felt he is as good as Diangana on the left wing, would be used as a utility player, as he can hold his own anywhere.

Well following on from my earlier post CC takes off Sarmiento and brings on Wallace and Swift, fair enough, but then plays Wallace on the left, Swift on the right and moves Grady inside. I am going to get splitters scratching my head from that one, why surely the move was Grady on the left Wallace on the right and Swift inside, but C must have his reasons and I am just not savvy enough to understand what they are.

Well we have palmer to thank for not losing that one. Can’t say I’m happy with bbc sport webpage reporting baggies slump to 13th when the fact is we rose to 13th from 15th

Are we getting a new mascot?
A gummy bear ..... More fitting .... Because we're toothless in attack.

270 minutes of football and barely six shots on target ... Three points earned, now 11 points off of top after dropping 14 out of 24. We have nine games to get four points to avoid the same position as last season. The top two are already getting out of reach, in a competitive league like the championship we can't give teams such a huge head start. Last year we had 14 points from 17 games, with goal difference we missed out by four points. This year we have a smaller squad, need to kick start our form NOW.

Glad I'm in greece, two hours ahead so out dining during the whole second half.

Come on you baggies get your s@&t sorted out. Play to entertain and win some ruddy games.

We outplayed Millwall two to one on pretty much every stat apart from the one that counts. Our age old problem, scoring, is still our Achilles heel.

Just checked the stats for our last three games.
37 shots
8 on target
2 goals
Result 3 draws 3 points dropped 6 more points on automatic promotion spots.

Not great reading.

Let's not forget that before a ball was kicked, many of us were expecting a hell of a difficult season, and expectations were, to say the least, pretty low - a relegation fight was forecast by many.
So let's bear that in mind when we see our performances and our results; a mid table position at the moment should maybe be recognised as fairly healthy.
'Feet on the ground', and all that! Thumb up
