A couple of previous giant-killers fell by the wayside today - Darvel, conquerors of Aberdeen last season, and Berwick Rangers, slayers of the mighty Glasgow Rangers in 1967 (I know because I was there  Big Grin ).

Two big wins today for Jeanfield Swifts thumping League Two side Elgin City 6-0, only bettered by Tranent thrashing East Kilbride 7-0, including a goal from Kallum Higginbotham - remember him? Two Uniteds are still there - Dunbar, who beat League Two East Fife 1-0 and Formartine, who beat Clydebank 3-2.

Very under rated player for us was Higginbotham. Should've played more games.

Scott Brown made the draw for the Third Round and managed to come up with the following ties, which will take place on the weekend of Saturday 25 November. The Championship teams (including another 2 Uniteds) come into the reckoning at this stage.

Albion Rovers v Bonnyrigg Rose
Annan Athletic v Dumbarton
Brora Rangers v Pollok
Broxburn Athletic v Buckie Thistle
Cumnock Juniors v Broomhill
Dunbar United v Alloa Athletic
Dunfermline Athletic v Raith Rovers
Falkirk v Formartine United
Greenock Morton v Luncarty or Bo'ness United
Hamilton Academical v Kelty Hearts
Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Cowdenbeath
Montrose v Edinburgh City
Musselburgh Athletic or Clyde v Jeanfield Swifts
Partick Thistle v Queen's Park
Peterhead v Ayr United
Queen of the South v Dundee United
Stirling Albion v Cove Rangers
Stranraer v Airdrieonians
The Spartans v Arbroath
Tranent v Forfar Athletic

There are 2 interesting derbies on show - the matches at Dunfermline and Partick - both of which might go all the way to penalties.

Clyde eventually beat Musselburgh Athletic 3-2 tonight after extra time. All the goals came after the 75th minute with Kian Leslie being Clyde's star man with 2 assists and the 3rd goal. Clyde now host Jeanfield Swifts in the Third Round.

Luncarty did not manage a shot against Bo'ness United yesterday afternoon and lost 0-1 to goal by Thomas Grant. This ensures 5 United's continue on the road to glory.
