Leeds United have signed Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon on a season-long loan.

The 25-year-old Wales international has made 15 league appearances for Spurs since joining from Swansea in October 2020.

He spent last season on loan with French top-flight club Rennes.

Rodon is the Whites' fourth summer signing and could make his debut for Daniel Farke's side in Saturday's Championship trip to Birmingham City.

New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has already reinforced his squad's rear-guard this summer with the signing of Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg for a fee which could reportedly rise to £43m.

Defenders Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Maximilian Wober have all left Leeds on loan deals of their own since relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.

Farke's men began their Championship campaign by salvaging a 2-2 draw at home to Cardiff City last Sunday thanks to Crysencio Sumerville's late equaliser.

Leeds United have signed striker Joel Piroe from Swansea City on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, which is believed to be more than £10m.

Piroe, 24, had been linked with a host of clubs having scored 46 goals in 96 Swansea appearances.

Swansea's Championship rivals Leeds won the race for the former PSV Eindhoven player, who had only a year to run on his contract in south Wales.

Swansea had discussed a new deal with Piroe but he has opted to leave.

Southampton, managed by former Swansea boss Russell Martin, Leicester City and Everton were among the other sides thought to have shown an interest in Piroe, who has thrived during two seasons in English football.

Swansea agreed a deal worth about £1m rising to £2m to sign former Netherlands Under-20s international Piroe in the summer of 2021, with that transfer thought to include a sell-on clause which means PSV will receive a proportion of the fee paid by Leeds.

He reached 20 goals in each of his two full seasons as a Swansea player.

Piroe becomes Leeds' fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Ethan Ampadu, Sam Byram, Karl Darlow and former Swansea defender Joe Rodon.

Leeds United have signed full-back Djed Spence on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old came through Fulham's academy before joining Middlesbrough, where he made 70 appearances.

He then helped Nottingham Forest to promotion to the Premier League during a loan spell in 2021-22.

Spence joined Spurs last summer in a £20m deal, but made only six substitute appearances before joining French side Rennes on loan in January.

His move to Elland Road means he links up with fellow Spurs loanee Joe Rodon, who he also played with during his spell in Ligue 1 last term.

Spence helped Rennes to a fourth-placed finish in the French top flight and joins a Leeds side who have taken five points from their first four Championship games this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have signed midfielder Archie Gray from Leeds United for about £30m, with defender Joe Rodon moving in the opposite direction in a deal worth about £10m.

Gray has signed a contract until 2030 with Spurs, who Leeds said had "met a release clause that was triggered by the club’s failure to get promoted at the first attempt".

The sale is believed to be enough to make the Elland Road club compliant with profit and sustainability rules, after their defeat in the Championship play-off final by Southampton cost them promotion and forced them to sell players.

Spurs have beaten Brentford to the signing of 18-year-old Gray, who played 52 matches in all competitions - in midfield and at right-back - for Leeds last season.

Gray had begun a medical at Brentford's training ground, only for the Bees to have their bid of a similar value rejected by Leeds over the payment structure and add-ons on Sunday.

England Under-21 international Gray, who also qualifies for Scotland, is the great-nephew of Leeds legend Eddie Gray and the Yorkshire club said they had agreed to the teenager's transfer "with a heavy heart".

They added: "Whilst we understand that supporters will be hugely disappointed to lose such a homegrown talent, and a family name so synonymous with Leeds United, the move improves the club’s chance to compete for automatic promotion next season by increasing our ability to build a competitive squad within the league’s financial control regulations.

"Everyone at Leeds United is heartbroken to see one of our own depart and would like to thank Archie for all his efforts and professionalism."

Wales international Rodon, who was on loan at Leeds last season, has signed a four-year deal with the club.
