LAST MATCH

Unsurprisingly we won a game that didn't matter as results elsewhere meant it will be the lottery of the playoffs instead of safe automatic promotion. We took the lead when Gregory fed Smith who finished well into the top corner. Bannan nearly made it 2, but saw his effort tipped over the bar. Onto the 2nd half and Smith quickly made it 2, heading in Johnson's cross. We made 3 when Bannan threaded a ball through to Smith who claimed his hat-trick. Shrewsbury didn't offer too much and we saw the game through.

THE MATCH

Our final game and home game of the season as we entertain Derby. Derby need a win to guarantee a playoff spot, if they slip up they could let Peterborough claim that last playoff spot if they win at Barnsley. David McGoldrick is there main threat with 24 goals and 6 assists, not bad for a 35 year old. They are managed by Paul Warne was appointed in September 22 and has a 45% win rate and usually makes it difficult for us when he was Rotherham manager. Be interesting how DM plays this, play the first team and try and knock Derby from the playoffs or rest players for the playoffs.

Huge decision for Moore as to who he plays in this one!! Momentum is vital going into the POs and we have now won 4 of our last 5 games, so do we go for the win by playing the first 11? I can't see Posh getting anything at Barnsley as I can't see the Dingles playing a weak side but you never know. If we lose to Derby by playing a second 11 against their first 11, does that shift the momentum and confidence to them? I think its in our best interests to beat them, let Bolton and Barnsley knock each other out and hopefully take the momentum and the win into the two games against whoever finishes 6th.

I think Moore should try something different against them as it's pretty much a dead rubber.
Could test a different formation or tactic to see how it works. Give a couple of Academy kids a pop.
One thing's for sure, Warne wouldn't expect it.
He's going to be expecting 352 with Iorfa the weak link to put under pressure.

The playoff semi final home leg has been moved to Thursday 18th, on police advice.

All this if Moore does this that an the other ffs ...it doesn't matter because when we step out at Wembley they'll bottle it and freeze in the headlights thanks to our bottleless skipper who's bottled every big game since coming here !!!

And we had better prey for Barnsley in the final cos Bolton are not scared off it !! Either way we are f@cked !
