This Euro footie participation/play-off format will be something of interest for a good number of Hibs fans. Hibs youths impressively winning the Scot U18s Youth League last season and I didn't realise that being involved in the Euro Domestic Champions path is one of the benefits of attaining that league win and something we sadly don't see very often - IMO beneficial for our younger players to be competing v likely superior opponents even though I'm sure it will be tough. Two play-off rounds to negotiate. I hope they do well and surprise everyone.

FT and the young hibees won 2-1 tonight after leading 2-0 and unfortunately losing a late goal in the 83rd min. A 2-2 aggregate score prevailed with the referee immediately calling the requisite pk decider after the final whistle. And what a dramatic pen shootout it was - Hibs winning the "toss of the coin" and taking their pens in front of the many singing Hibs fans located in the FF Stand. The final result - Hibs winning 5-4 with young Macintyre, the MOTM, "burying" the decisive pk. Well done!! Thumb up And well done to the 3200 Hibs fans who showed up to give these young lads some great support particularly during that dramatic pk decider.

And the young Hibees register another huge result, 1-0 v vg opponents from Nantes. A precariously narrow lead; one must ask,"Is it enough"? I hope it is as these lads have done very well during this Euro play-off process. Getting beyond the 2nd round will be a tremendous achievement as the final 3rd play-off round will be a huge challenge v Euro youth CL drop-outs.

Hibs lads winning 1-2 in the 2nd leg in France and what a monumental achievement to make the final Euro quali round. This 3rd round quali tie will present the biggest challenge, but it is not an impossible task to win this tie. Well done in getting to this stage!!! Thumb up

Hibs youths to play their Euro play-off final v Borussia Dortmund at ER Stadium on 7 Feb next year. All or nothing in this one leg final match. The wee Hibees have home advantage, but don't dismiss the enormity of this challenge v decent opponents with a footie pedigree attached to them. All I can say is good luck and "give it your best shot"!! It will certainly be a historic achievement for the club if these lads succeed and I'd like to think that a good number of them could eventually make it playing for Hibs 1st team.

Match tickets now available for the Dortmund confrontation on 7 Feb and Hibs opening up the East Stand for this one. It should be a vg match!
