Premier Sports Cup: Hibs v Morton, Wed 20 July, KO 7.45pm

This is Hibs last group match and lets hope they finish this first prep period with a decent performance and something positive to build on for the serious stuff coming up soon in the Scot Prem. I'm sure there will be a decent Hibs crowd showing up at ER Stadium esp during such a period of warm weather.

1-1 and Hibs unimpressive/rotten in the resultant pk shootout!! I must concede that Hibs don't deserve to progress into the next round of this Betfred Cup. I described the past couple of weeks of matches as prep matches and IMO that is exactly what they were although this inevitable elimination is not a good look for the manager who I have never been enamoured with from the very beginning. What a start to his career at ER Stadium!! Thumb down I wonder what Ron Gordon made of it??? Two group matches v Falkirk, and now Morton, where the 1st half performances were absolutely underwhelming!! Early days to Johnson's tenure and I didn't wanna see Hibs starting on a high anyway (it will be a gradual process), but at the moment, I perceive McGeady as a dud, Doidge started the season with good intentions of having a far better season than last - can't see it, not the same striker we watched before incurring that horrible Achilles injury and we clearly don't have any pen box striker who is prolific - a massive weakness of this Hibs team leading in to the start of the Scot Prem season!! That prob hasn't been redressed at all!! Clearly other new players still to come in, but none of them are regular goal scorers. Also IMO Hibs midfield is short of a really good driving midfield player, a game changer. Lotsa probs are evident well before the Scot Prem season begins.

The manager seems a complete imposter already.... We look like a team that is going to be fighting relegation this season.

Only Henderson looks like he might be improved so far.

Yep!! That's my initial perception of Hibs situation as well!! Johnson still has a bit of prep time to mould some kinda accountable 1st team. However, I perceive he doesn't have a solid "spine" of a 1st team. He almost has that foundation, but not there yet. The striking issue is a huge one and it could well "kill him" before he has hardly even commenced his career at ER Stadium. He comes over as another "talker - talks a good game"!! I'm not a fan of this manager at all!!

I'm more concerned about him playing cadden at LB !!

I dont think mcgeady is a dud, he still has skill and good feet but he is very short of pace now.

Porteous did not look like he could be arsed last night - given some of the shit he's been pulling away from fitba i'd be inclined to get him out the door.

Looks like Hibs will be given a penalty ( one they cannot miss lol ) for fielding an ineligible player last night, which I believe to be Rocky , so a mate told me!

When this happened last week at Elgin v Ayr, Ayr were given the win ( 3.0 ? )

Not very professional from Hibs.

This is another embarrassing feature of Hibs admin operation that many Hibs fans like myself have not been impressed with at all. It's another question mark to add to the list re the way certain people are running our footie club "behind the scenes" and not performing properly at all.

Same old Hibs then? Some of the stuff we see is totally embarrassing. It's been said before that the attitude at the top is all wrong and it works down the pyramid.
